For example, I hate the window tinting options for the 2016. No one-way mirroring? Unacceptable![/QUOTE]

    And illegal.

Don't think you have had them in a vehicle have you? Not trying to offend or upset, but it's small adjustments in between the manual settings, forward, up, down, lean back just right. I never thought I'd like them, but once I got a taste of the adjustability, yeah there are great.

Not.!!!...Quality in, comfort out....my Lexus RX has 230,000 miles and the memory seats have NEVER been an issue.....actually, less normal pm's both Lexus have been GREAT....maybe Toyota should offer a Lexus P/U edition for everyone crying about "creature comforts" :p ;)

    emailing Toyota right now:

    Dear Toyota,

I highly recommend 8-way power seats on the 2016 Tacoma. It's a truck, but I would like it to be a spa treatment on wheels also. Bronco tough, agile as a fox, manning up to obstacles, but still purrs like a kitten curled up in front of the fire in January.

    Faithfully Yours,

    MountainEarth

Power seats seem to be one of the first thing to break, I prefer manual.

Power seats never break since the motors don't get used often. Nice to have 8-ways though because they have so many seating positions. Captain chair buckets would be nice also with the foldup elbow rests. It's not all that hard to do, people. Nicely padded 60/40 foldup rear seats in the Access Cab is not all that hard to do either, people. Full leather is not all that hard to do, people.

Tacoma 2016 has come close to matching a 2005-2006 Tundra, but it looks like they didn't quite do so. That's gotdang pathetic the 2016 Tacoma still can't match a '05 Tundra.

They could have hit it out of the park by making the 2016 like a 2005-2006 Tundra, smoked the GM twins, put them into the dustbin. All the parts are on the shelf, put them into the Tacoma instead of just trying to match the GM twins.

As much as I love first Gen Tundra's I think the 2016 is better.

Still doesn't have 48 inches between the wheel wells in the bed like the Gen I Tundra. Gen I Tundra had 10.5 inches ground clearance stock. Gen I Tundra 79 inches wide with fender flares, 75 inches wide without fender flares. Gen 2 Tacoma 75 inches wide with fender flares. I wouldn't mind seeing the 2016 Tacoma two inches wider. It would still be a good offroad truck.

Hitting it out of the park would be making the 2016 Tacoma like a 2005-2006 Tundra, but just a little bit better. Unfortunately, Toyota didn't do that from what I've seen. Came close, but no cigar.

I think most people that haul plywood regularly buy a fullsize, the average consumer will make due with the smaller bed for the few times they need to. IF bed size was a problem you wouldn't see most people buying DCSB's

    Lol good stuff.

Serious question as there are many rants in the 16 section. Has anyone actually formed a professional rant letter to Toyota? I mean let's be real not like Toyota looks through these forums....

On the base model 4X4, the only thing manual available is the transmission.

So even the barebones model really isn't bare bones anymore.

no, just thinking of my fat friend that has to raise the steering wheel to get in and out of truck. I have had power seats and they are very nice when you have multiple drivers. Since I am the only driver I really do not need them. I do think they should be an option.

True about the twins power seats, limited adjustability, but still enough to make occasional seating position changes on long drives.

Are power seats good or necessity, is not important and not the point. The point is, that the new Tacoma does not have certain features, being at certain price and in 2016. I do not like power seats, mainly because they add weight, but for a $30000-40000 vehicle to not have them is an extremely cheap and laughable move by Toyota. Also, the argument: 'If it ain't broken, don't fix it'; speaking of the slow moving progress in Toyota's models is just justifying a lame company's policy, that wants to rest on old reputation.
I love my 2008 TRD Sport, but I find Toyota's approach literally retarded, so I would not buy an overpriced vehicle, that doesn't have last century features, that do not even count as extras in similarly priced products. I would rather prefer buying a vehicle with some minor flaws, caused by trying to make it modern and advanced for it's price, instead of one, that's simplified, trimmed down on manufacturing costs and perfectly reliable.
