Torn between the 2 versions.....Has anybody got pics of the lite version mounted? Also will the slot nuts work with the factory tie downs/are they better?

    Next how do I order?

Not to do the job of the OP but....
The bed rail nuts are for mounting things like a high lift jack, quickfists a shovel or axe, but you could use them for what ever you want. The solid version is rather heavy, the light version is surely just as strong but probably a couple pounds lighter.

Send a private message to Bullaculla the OP. He is very helpful.

I don't think weight should even be an issue for such a thing like this. Both look really cool, but being aluminum I would think the solid is stronger.

Hot damn these are slick though! I'll be ordering one once I decide on the design I like most.

I really like the look of the lite version with its holes for drainage, but like the "solids" more solid top where it bolts to the hitch......I like the look of the solid mounted, but I also haven't seen any of the lites mounted on here to compare

I figure they are equally as strong.

Thanks for all the comments and helpful posts. The weight difference is negligible. And for strength, they are both very strong. Besides it would take a perfectly shaped rock or something to be able to get up in there and hit the bracket. The tow hitch and spare tire hangs down lower than the bracket. Here is a lite version installed:
