My friend has a Rav4 and was hit on front driver side around the same time I was hit. Just got his Rav back and I could tell instantly that the lines were over by the hood. He says it sounds fine while driving.

Anyways he didn't have it done by Toyota so I hope that mine doesn't turn out the same.

same mine went from $6600 to $8040. More time in paint and replaced all front bumper reinforcement assemblies.

In this situation a lawyer would cost more then I would gain. I've contacted many lawyers and tell politely told me that they wouldn't even take the case because there's nothing really for me to gain to would just loose me money.

Sorry to hear about this man. Rear end crash attenuator was the first thing I bought for my Baja. Helps absorb impact - some.

    This x10.

Dont get shitty aftermarket parts. Pay out of pocket if you absolutely have too for OEM.

Aftermarket stuff fits like shit and looks awful.

I saw a couple of these before. A guy I can't remember his name on this tread worked on studying crashes. Those can cause more damage to your frame because if hit wrong they will act as a wench and pol vault the back of the frame.

I'm glad you didn't get an appraiser, it would of just been burning money. Also glad you were able to get OEM parts. When is it going to be ready?

I'm not sure where you are but in California you have the right to choose which collision center does that work and to have them use only OEM parts.

Since you truck is fairly new and the repair is $6,600 they won't "total" it and give you a salvage title but your value may in fact go down if the accident is reported to CarFax. You can sue the person that caused the accident for the loss in value and they will have to figure out how to get you paid. They may get reimbursed, and maybe not. That's their issue with their insurance carrier.

    Good luck.

Truck will be ready on Wednesday, and I have thought about a small claims court its pretty simple. But, Geico has already been talking about diminished value so we will see, I will update when I get a numbered figure from them and when I get the truck back how it looks.

Went with the All Pro with hidden hitch & side protection. :D

Also, my rig was hit by a Wal-Martian a little over a year ago in the Walmart parking lot. She was at fault & hauling across the parking lot, but since it was private property the police couldn't submit a report or name anyone at fault. She had worthless Geico who of course didn't cover my damage so my insurance had to cover it aside of my insurance company & me fighting them. (They said unless you can prove that she was 100% at fault, they wouldn't cover it. They determined conveniently that she was 90% at fault.) IMO insurance companies, Geico especially are worthless thieves.

Good luck though. My All Pro bumper ran about $900 shipped. I'll probably end up powder coating it flat black here in the next few weeks.

Another reason for me going with the All Pro is I had a shopping cart nail my rear quarter panel so this will cover that dent & provide a little more protection for that area.

Damn I really don't like people, if I would have hit you and been at fault (I've done this before) I would have got out and just admitted it. Got into an accident two years ago it was the only one I've ever caused. I called my insurance and told them I was completely at fault.

Geico isn't my biggest hero either so fare its been ok but I've had to stick to my guns and make sure every little step has gone in my favor.

    Where was your Taco hit?

And how did it drive after the repairs?

Wasn't too bad, she shot in front of me from my blind spot so maybe $2k in front end damage. New headlight, fog light, bumper & grill was all so no where as severe as yours. No frame damage & drives okay. I should have gotten a front plate then but I didn't. That's next on the list though...

    I'm glad to hear that.

I'm trying to get a ARB front and back armor.

No, just ordered it a few days ago but I'll post pics once I get it painted & mounted. If I don't get deployed again the next few weeks & the weather cooperates I'm hoping to have it on within a few weeks - I'll keep everyone posted....
