Just old. My livingroom was a carport that was enclosed 25 years ago or so. The plywood wasn't taken off the studs. They just put paneling over it. And did some bitched up wiring too! I didn't get a pic of it, but my heating vents come through the foundation block into the livingroom. They just took the vents out of the block and put plywood in and cut a hole for the duct.

 

Oh , an archaeological dig , done a few of those jobs , haha

 

Yeah pretty much. Finding some beautiful work. I know the hallway to the bedrooms has paneling over drywall. That's gonna be a big mess to tear apart.

 

I've pulled some stuff apart that amazes me was still standing . We did a reno on a 1940's house and at some point during a bathroom reno somebody notched the 2 x12 joists with a chainsaw down so there was only 2" of wood left on the bottom and they cut 3/4 of the way through a double joist that was carrying the opening around the stairwell and all the floor load . We originally weren't supposed to open up that area but ended up dropping the ceiling to run some pipes and then discovered we needed to remove all the existing pipes and wiring to reframe the entire joist system

Wwwwwwoooooooooowwwww! Doesn't surprise me though. My bathroom will be a job too. Handicapped shower that was installed from the outside then framed and sheeted around it. Figure I'll have to cut it out in pieces. It's getting tile put back in.

 

We get into messes on commercial stuff at work. I liked the architect/engineers that had us installing safety tie off points at PSU. They wanted us to bolt tie off posts into drain bowls. Required 3.5" of penetration for concrete anchors in 2.5" of concrete. And had us bolting to beams that didn't exist.

But they have a college education and I'm just a stupid roofer...

 

We fight with our electrical engineer on a daily basis too. It's amazing what they think will work when it physically can't be done.

 

These are procomp mx6s painted orange, look red in pic and because I was so happy to break a shock I shot 2 rounds at it, found out the damn things are bullet proof....not Rinzler proof

 

WHAT IN THE HELL? thats really bad an i can and have done better than that. I don’t do that kinda work very often either.

very clean! yeah 55* to 60* is when i start wearing shorts and t shirts. I find it funny when it’s 65* and i see people in jeans and long sleeve shirts and even sometimes jackets.

 

Pulled paneling off and found that beautiful mess. I liked the old pressed wood material shit that the receptacle box was made of. You can't see it in the picture but it was jammed back into the wall where the wires are taped together.
