It's a Baja Edition, so it's got the factory lift/leveling parts. Apparently these and the TRD Pro Tacos are getting Toyota's attention finally, because they can't duck the warranty claim by blaming an aftermarket lift kit for the vibes. The bad news is there were only a few thousand Baja and Trd Pro Tacos made, so the pressure for Toyota to come up with a good fix is limited.

this is an inherent problem with the 2nd gens. it's when it will happen, not if it will happen

I installed the ECGS bushing in my double cab before I even got the vibe.

My access cab had the vibe before it was lifted, ECGS bushing solved that.

im a mechanic at the dealer and i will be working on my own truck so i could install the bushing at the same time but im told toyota is aware of the bearing issue in the front diff and has possibly fixed it . so i just toss the diff in and see what happens

I'm going to give Toyota a chance to fix this right while i still have a warranty. However, if nothing is available in 15k (30k on the truck) when this new diff starts vibing I'll have the ECGS bushing installed on number three while everything is new.

My dealership told me that the parts they just installed were identical to what they took out, and that they expect it to fail again. They also said that they think Toyota is finally working on a fix, but that that nothing was available yet. We both expect to be doing this at least one more time. I have time and warranty coverage, so i can wait....

New memeber here and wanted to share my experience.

Recently purchased a 05 TRD Off-Road. After installing coilovers and UCA's, it had a horrible vibration from 5-35mph. You could feel it in the wheel, pedals and floor. Was pretty bummed.

Searched online, found this thread, ordered up the parts and installed. No more vibrations, nice and smooth, and seems like the 4wd engages a little easier.

Thanks East Coast Gear Supply for the fix!

    An update for anyone interested.

I now have 85k miles on my ECGS bushing with no return of vibrations.

THAT is a useful update. Thanks for sharin'.

Just bought a '12 Reg cab has a 1" spacer lift and it roars a little, took to dealer told them I was convinced it was a wheel bearing, they put the chassis ears on it and nothin', they say no problems.. convinced what I'm hearing/feeling is the diff. Props to ECGS for coming up with a fix.. sheesh I thought I was going crazy.

I am finally installing the bearing tomorrow night. I wanted my friend to help me cause he has taken 100s of CV axles out.(hes a 20yr mechanic on anything that moves) He says you should be able to take out the whole CV/hub/rotor assembly out without taking it apart. I will find out tomorrow! My guess is just be VERY careful with ABS wire.
