Cab swap time*QUESTIONS*

If you want to swap the cab harness over it'll fit no problem.

 

Cory, you keeping the bed? extcab short bed would be rad.

 

I've decided to do everything I can to keep it a double cab.

 

Thread resurrection, thinking about doing this but I have a 5 speed. Would having a 5 speed ECU (since the DC never came with a 5 speed) result in having to swap the entire cab harness, even if the ECU is taken from say, a DC AT TRD 4x4?

 

no cab harness needs swaped.

many other issues with putting a double cab on an ext cab frame though. and manual in a DC.

 

I thought the only thing that needed to be done was move a couple of cab mounts and then swap ECUs? Any build threads?

 

hell no.

You have to install all the stuff for a clutch. The MS and such and a third pedal ect.

granted..thats just to swap a manual in a DC.

 

This would be the other way around... I'd assume the hole in the middle of the cab is all that's needed (basically) concerning the tranny swap

At that point I'd just chop the cabs in half, weld them together to make a double cab and bolt a short bed on the back. Redneck engineering.

 

i wouldn't. Ive welded on the body before. Fucking sucks.

doesn't look like you need a new cab anyways. May as well just sell what you have and buy a DC if you want it.

 

But I love my 5 speed
