damn, one of the reasons i do not drive with my hitch in.....but who knows what could have resulted in a collision without one. good call on the cam. I use to do this with my gopro but on a day to day it eats battery like none other.

Damn, not good - glad everyone is alright! IowaToyotas just went through this too! :frusty:

Maybe consider slapping on a rear plate bumper if insurance will cover it. I just ordered an All Pro rear plate bumper with side protection and hidden hitch. Can't wait to get it powder coated & mounted now.

Do you have uninsured motorist insurance? If not then you can also sue. Good luck with getting your Tacoma fixed. Least you guys are ok and not in the hospital.

Thats the same reason i always have a hitch of shackle mount in my receiver. Enjoy your pierced raditor bitch!

OP, glad you are alright. Hope things work out smoothly. Hope the no insurance on the other guy doesn't keep you from getting this repaired :(

The truck can probablt be fixed but the rear of the frame is definitely tweeked and will probably go on some sort of frame stretcher at the body shop to be straightened. Don't quote me as i have not seen the frame*

She was like, "is my shit alright? Fuck you guys, i'm out!"

Thanks for all the input. I'm heading to a Toyota dealer this morning for the estimate. Think this will total the truck?

Patrick glad to hear you okay. I would still watch any back injuries and neck injuries because sometimes it does not show up immediately. My brother-in-law was rear ended in his toyota and he didn't feel anything immediately went to the hospital a couple of weeks later and it turned how that he had whiplash. Just sharing an experience.

OP glad you and your gf aren't hurt. I had two similar experiences with my truck getting sideswiped by a semi truck and then getting T-boned on the rear passenger tire. Hopefully the person who hit you is cooperating and not a total idiot. I had a really bad experience trying to get my truck fixed when I was hit. Took the insurance over a month just to get everything settled and fixed. I did not have "rental car" coverage as well so I had to pay out of pocket for a rental at the time but was later reimbursed through insurance. Just remember trucks are replaceable, people are not. Hoping the best for you.

if the frame is gone wouldn't that mean the truck is deemed "totaled"?

    frame is fukt

Thanks, if I need anything I'll hit you up.

Planning on a plate bumper too!

I think the hitch kept the car from picking up the rear end of the truck. It did possibly cause more damage to my truck, but totaled the other car, and that makes me sleep a little better.

    :bananadead:

Wilco... $13,105.24 and thats to fix the tailgate and bedsides, not replace, so that number could go up a bit more.

biting my tongue on that bitches actions :burnrubber:

    That's on the list now

Gonna put one on, wait for everything else to be installed and then tell them to not worry about the hitch and bumper and do it all myself. USAA said they cut the check to me and I do as I please with it... I think...

    Thanks, it's fukt

Yes, and he is a dead beat P.O.S. not worth the lawyer fees.

We're on the same page. Frame is fukt

Thanks! Having to pull the old T100 out of storage if it takes too long, as I don't have rental either.

You would think. $13,105 is only 56% percent of the value, needs 75% to total.

    Yeah, ridic.

And thanks to everyone else for your best wishes and thoughts!!! I'll keep you guys posted on updates. Still waiting to hear back from my USAA adjuster. There are 3 2nd gens at the dealer waiting for frames for rust and they have been waiting 3 months so far! I'm not happy about what this timeline is gonna be.
