Yup... Demon souls is the reason I bought a PS3. I love that game because it is hard core. It makes you pay for your mistakes but it is fair. The feeling of finally beating a boss makes it feel as you have really accomplished something.

Exactly! I am afraid to look at how many hours I have sunk into those games. Has to be 400+. Which is no where near how many some people do.
Its considered a 100+ hr game just to beat it. I highly suggest giving it a try. Just know its probably one of the hardest games you will play. But like I was saying, those that like it spend 100+ hours on one account. I am surprised at how many people don't know about this series but each game was rated near perfect.

I never said I didn't enjoy it , just not looking forward to the grind of trying to make $150 million to buy the golf course

Considering not getting a xbox or a ps4 at all now and looking into the Alienware Alpha. Price seems on point and I need a better system for my editing and painting programs. Seems like it would be a solid win/win. Plus my steam account would be revived and the games are cheaper.

I was never a huge fan of keyboard and mouse but with a controller I think I would enjoy it a lot more. I have the laptop for my basic browsing and school work but it just doesn't cut it for photoshop and illustrator at times. I always think, hey I need a laptop, then I buy a new laptop and it sits on my desk . Or I move it a whopping 5 ft to my bed to browse the web in comfort.

I can get the base model at $488. It looks like additional RAM is the first upgrade and then in the future I can upgrade the CPU if I feel the need to. After reading some reviews and forums, I believe a base model would be fine for my needs. I am not a computer nut that has to run everything at 1080p, highest resolution, and highest detail settings.

The other thing that is a huge selling point is game selection. I really hate that right now I can count the amount of games I want to play on one hand with both the ps4 and xbox one. I have no problem playing older games, which is why I still have the ps3 and xbox 360. I pick up games I haven't played for cheap off ebay/Amazon and that's basically what ill do with steam. Just wait for sales and occasionally buy the new game that I really want to play.

That's the selling point of the system . It brings PC gaming to the living room. It doesn't have the option for disks but I have the PS3 I can just keep around for the occasional dvd or bluray.

That's funny... I was just thinking of picking one up myself. I've got a shit ton of games on steam.

I might pick one up tomorrow when I get off work. I've been on the fence long enough. Time for another 32" monitor :woot:

Sweet :). Gives you a few weeks to compare it to the PS4. Which ended up being my choice for the consoles

Well, you can't really compare the two since they are two vastly different machines. What kind of games you want to play will also be a deciding factor. The Alpha will double as a new computer so it has a benefit for me. I will play games on it but I will still play the PS4 more for that.

I am just interested in how well the games play on it compared to the consoles. If the interface is clean and simple, etc. I know how a PC acts and have heard enough about all the features the consoles have that I'll never use . This will be almost strictly a game console. I'll use the computer aspect of it for something's but not much.
