Ebc stage 5 because they stop very well. I can barely get the abs to come on stomping em down on a dirt road. TAP Auto because their prices are awesome and Chas is a good dude.

I would just stick with OEM or equal too. My buddy got some from Pep Boys and never had a problem with them on his 2010 DCLB.

I've only had mine a few months, but I read before I bought that longevity is similar to stock. Stage 5 (yellow) pads are rated for heavy dust. Mine don't seem that bad though. You can piece together custom kits. You should PM Chas of MRT.

I drive and tow over the "infamous" Teton Pass daily. Powerstop worked great.

Wouldn't that be a sign of crappy brakes? You can hardly lock the wheels on a dirt road.

so either oem or ebc stage 5 is what it seems most are running. Besides taking off my rotors and swapping the pads bolt by bolt. Is there anything specific you have to do for setting the brakes or anything?

I'm diggin my Power Stop Brake Kit. Rotors have held up quite well slowing my 35" tires. Braking is still smooth and responds well after almost 20k miles.

No. And i said get the abs to come on, not lock the wheels. Abs should stop that . With my stock brakes on dirt roads, abs would kick on very easily and I would have some long stopping distances. With my EBC brakes on dirt roads, it is much harder to engage abs and my stopping distances are shorter because of it.

this would mean the brakes have a harder time locking up the tires and hence why abs isnt kicking in.

Seriously, my OEM setup on my 2013 TRD OR 4x4 i can lock up all 4 tires at 60mph without even trying.

I'm running ebc stage 4 and have no complaints. The brake dust isn't bake on the stage 4.

I like DBA rotors with Hawk pads. We have that setup on our Ram 1500 and it works great. I've been using DBA rotors on my G35 with great success. On my 3rd or 4th set of rotors now.

What do you think causes the ABS System to engage?

    Understanding Your Anti-Lock Brakes System

The ABS system prevents wheel lock-up by monitoring each wheel with a wheel speed sensor. When the wheel starts to skid, hydraulic pressure to the brake is temporarily reduced to prevent the wheel from skidding.
What Other Types of Driving Conditions Can Cause the ABS to Engage?

Anything that will cause a wheel to stop turning during braking will cause the ABS system to engage. Hitting a bump, crossing railroad tracks, or traversing any slick surface while braking can cause a wheel to stop turning and the ABS to engage. These non-panic situations are where drivers tend to release brake pressure, which results in longer stopping distances.

ABS doesn't do anything unless a wheel is starting to lock up.

Jimmy or Op, if you're ever in the Bay Area and want to test out my ebc for yourself, come on by :D.

All I'm saying is stock wise abs would occasionally come on easily and unexpected. I didn't like it. My old truck did not have abs, so maybe I'm just not used to it, but in situations where I did not want, need, nor try to engage it came on and turned the pedal to a pulsing mush while I proceeded 10 ft + farther than expected. I messed with different pedal pressures off road. Brake hard (where I would expect it to engage) and it was a shit ton of abs action. Brake light(er) and the abs would still pulse on and off.

With my ebc brakes, I haven't had the abs engage where I would not expect it to. Only time it has engaged was a purposeful hard stop on dirt. It was a much better stop (IMHO) than the same test with stock brakes. In my scientific butt dyno test, I like the ebc brakes better. Subjective opinion? You bet.

Op, good luck in your search. Seems there are a lot of good options

EBC stage 5 is a forum favorite. It works awesome. Big improvement over stock brakes. There is a little bit higher dust factor but I think the trade off is worth it!
The DBA kit above is also very stout!
