I went to the dealer this past weekend to see if they were budging on prices for the 2015's since they just announced the new model. I couldn't get much out of them. He said even with the new model announced the demand is still high enough where they don't have to bargain.

the tacoma is pretty much the only model that toyota sells that they dont do any special financing on / special promos.... cus regardless demand is so high for them.

A couple years huh? That's a shame. I am so excited to get a new Tacoma. Maybe the best bet is to wait like you said for parts to become readily available. Or I could just ride around stock until the parts start coming out.

I like everything about it except for the grille. I would take the Limited grille over the TRD Off Road grille though. That would easily be the first mod for me.

Not that it helps everyone but through USAA, you can use their car purchasing services. I think they use TrueCar. There may be other companies that offer this service but I am unaware of them. You could even go directly through TrueCar but it may have a cost associated with it. That may be about the only "discount" you will get on the 2016 Tacoma's initially.

I think it looks good and has some nice upgrades. My 2013 only has 30k on it so I will not be getting one. Besides, they need to get the SC out before I buy one. Hooked on HP.

You to shop around and get lucky. When I bought my 2006 brand new, demand was still high because it was only the 2nd year. A lot of dealers only took off a couple of hundred to $1k. I finally got lucky and found a dealer who took $3500 off MSRP and then another $500 off for new grad rebate.

Mostly likely dealers will play hardball and you will only get a couple of hundred off.

4runners still come out of Japan, that alone makes it a serious consideration over a Tacoma.....

I currently have a 2006 4Runner and was almost 100% set on a 2015. After going to the dealer ready to buy, I left considering other options. The 2015 seemed extremely under powered. The mpg I clocked during my test drive were bad and no where near what it's rated at. Additionally it felt way to heavy, had a lot of body sway and nose dive when hitting the breaks. I was bummed because I love my current 2006 and like the styling of the new one.

I hated the styling at first, but it's grown on me. If I could put my mods on a 4-Runner...

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
Present Tacoma inventories here are very low and prices remain high ... supply & demand.

Normally, you can get $3,000.00+/- off "Factory MSRP" on a TRD Crewcab here .... until the Gen 2 shortage hit .... then we go into shortage of new Gen 3, 2016 models .... and prices will stay high for next 12 months.

This is just a wild guess on pricing and depending on production levels and how hard they want to try to stop Chevy/GMC from getting a foothold too.

I bet Toyota likely tapers inventory to ensure as little 2015 inventory left when the 2016s roll out. They arent dumb and the demand for the 2015s is still there.

Thought I've read 1 or more reports quoting Toyota peeps that they're at Max production capacity for the Tacoma. If that's indeed true, they're not holding back.

Lol thanks. I may be new to TW, but let's just say I've been around the horn a few times. ;)

I was on Toyota forums before the Tacoma was introduced. Yeah I'm an old fart, got the battle scars from some school of hard knocks time, so I try to pass on some experience in hopes of those coming behind might avoid some of dumb shit I got into.

They will sell all of them and I wouldn't expect to see any 2016's till fall at that point and current demand, very little 2015s will be left.

Hmmm... So at 1:32 spokesperson says ALL sheet metal is new. I wonder how he figures that with the cab. The woman interviewing him even asks about it. Whataya'll think?
