Hey Alex....thanks for the install info....had me a bit confused at first but then I actually took the time to study the pics and realized you were simply running a jumper wire from the relay in the small box to the relay in the larger box. If I have it right you are bending the connector in the 1st box just like the regular mod and then running the wire to the larger box and soldering it to the straight leg of the second relay....which allows for fog lights to be turned on anytime the lights are on, but still is auto off? If so, the only question would be what size wire did you run for the jumper (I assume you solder it as close to the white plastic as you can to allow the relay to be inserted properly)...seems it would need to be a fairly small wire to fit without messing with the relay being installed far enough.

I would love a Pro.

Are you better off buying a regular TRD OR and throwing suspension on it? Sure. If you cared only about performance and not looks, then it's more worthwhile to do your own build. I'm sure a TRD OR with an Icon Stage 7 setup would absolutely stomp a Pro.

But...when the guy in the Pro gets a vibration driving home...and you get the same vibration. You take it to the dealer and they blame it on your Icon kit and then what? The guy in the Pro takes it in and they have to look at it, because it's a factory truck under warranty.

THAT is the difference. Everything else is just a bonus. Sure the grill looks nice. The TRD Exhaust you can buy. The wheels you can buy. The Orange is cool but I'd rather have the truck in Silver or Grey (don't like white, and I never want to own another black car after my experience with black cars up to this point). The hood scoop doesn't work and I don't know why people make such a big deal out of it, so whatever to that.

Haters are going to hate. And me? We'll I'm going to go buy a 3rd gen. Because I will put an Icon kit on - and what's the point of buying a Pro if you're tossing out the one part that makes it better (and the warranty that goes with it)?

But regardless, the Pro is a nice truck and a good buy for people that want a stock truck more capable than a regular TRD OR.

 

Congratulations on that beautiful truck. I'm jealous Alex, LOL! I think the mods you are performing on your truck are well-planned and for the most part, 100% functional. The stock step bars on my truck seemed to be more of a hindrance than anything, so I installed a set of N-Fab step bars which are smaller diameter and seem to hug the side of the truck a little better. I recently installed the same suspension on my '14 PreRunner just a few months ago, and I am extremely happy with its performance and looks. The set of 17" TRD PRO rims I installed finished it out.

The dealer-installed TRD Supercharger really woke my truck up. It's quiet at low RPM's, and anyone not aware of the soft whine would probably think I've got pulley bearing issues, LOL. But....the power delivery is very tractable and predictable and the torque increase is quite amazing for a dealer-installed option.

Now slap on that TRD Supercharger and let more fun begin!!!!

I second that! Let him post up his stuff rather than rag on the Pro...we should be trying to encourage folks to show what they are doing, not dis on them for posting it! Hopefully he will keep posting as he has done some cool stuff regardless of what some folks think!

Sweet pictures! Have trimmed down your flaps yet? Odds are they will tear off soon with obstacles like that.

Love the truck but $6000 dollars could have bought a supercharger, an ATV, dirt-bike, a mail order wife from eastern europe/Asia, or your future wife some new boobs. Priorities my friend.... Priorities.... Always think of the future.

I ended up throwing on some shorter softer rubber mud flaps. I need my flaps for gravel protection. With that wrap will it not get shredded traveling on shitty road with a loose surface?

After thinking about it, I think you made a great decision. In 20 years when that particular color taco is in great stock condition, you'll be banking.
