Rattle in Passenger Side Head Rest?

    Yeah, I was wondering if they could get other trucks to do it. Mine didn't for 20,000 miles.

    My 1st genration has this problem too. Im now hearing the whole seat itself rattle...

    Both seats have an active restraint system in the headrest. Some times they get loose. They are held in with 2 10mm bolts on the bottom and 2 more up top. If you lift up the seat cover from the back you will see the bottom of it, it's connected with a cable. They do rattle if there loose. Try that it might be your problem...

    Thanks! My dealer is going to take a look soon but if they can't fix it then I'll dive in. Great info.

    Well, dealer drove other trucks on the lot and said, 'they all do it so it's considered normal and we can't do anything about it'. The answer i was expecting. I asked the tech about what was inside the seat and he said nothing...there are just two tubes that the headrest slides into. It's not usually very difficult to take the top half of a seat cover off so I may take a look myself.

    I don't think that would fix my problem. My whole seat shakes. You can see it in the seat back all the way up to the hearest. Toyota calls this normal! :notsure:
