Engineer Tech for a packaging design firm.

I get to play with CAD tables, CNC machines, 3D printers, welders, etc..

we design, engineer, and test packaging for our clients like Gopro, Dell, Keurig, Apple, Craftsman, etc.

I build the prototypes for the packaging that the designers send me, then test them (basically trying to destroy them) by simulating cargo ships, delivery trucks, testing temps and humidity in our environment chamber..

Kind of like R&D for packaging.

definitely fun and different every day. plus i get to see and create packaging for products that haven't even hit the market yet

its like an adult arts and crafts here... that i get paid for.

I'm a CNC machinist/programmer for a high profile machine shop.

We make mostly consumables for the oil industry and some rather complicated stuff at that. Multi-axis lathes with live tooling is my domain. Wish I had my own machines to play with... The TW members would be seeing some pretty cool accessories from me if I did.

    Nice. Same one?

If I count my Army time, I've been making my money either directly or indirectly off the DoD for 18 years or so. The majority of my adult life for sure.

I just left one of the bigs for a much smaller one that nobody has ever heard of (yet).
