just be careful with abs... i dont even think i had to unbolt mine.

Literally raised the truck up put a jackstand under the frame, unbolted 2 LCA bolts, and pulled the CV out, still attached on the outside at the hub, it gave me plenty of room to pull it all the way out and out of the way with it still attached to remove the stock bearing n put the bushing in.

BTW 10k miles on my ecgs bushing, no issues.

Well just got my ecgs bushing installed and here's the results. The howling at 40mph is better it's not gone but 50-60% better now the rumble strip vibration around 25mph is still there strong as ever , so I guess on to the next idea

    you have two different issues.

what did the front CV look like when you pulled it out... the bushing can not fix a messed up CV.

your 25mph vibration is caused by the rear driveline, a totally different issue

6000 miles on the truck the cv shaft didn't even have scoring and fluid looked new ecgs installed the bushing . I guess like others have said it may only help the problem

Also even though the passenger side rides on a needle bearing and then a ball bearing that needle bearing is still in there making some noise , but I'm glad the ecgs bushing helped a little

Finally got the bushing installed! Had to grind the tool down a tiny but to get it to clear the bearing but it eventually came out. Friend noted it was worn down at only almost 3 years. Vibration seems to be eliminated, almost thought I felt something but it might have been imagination. Negligible at worst. I am currently listening to Good Vibrations to celebrate!

Will do, my friend did say the CV did have some wear due to the bearing so hopefully that doesn't cause it to come back.

Is it just because of the annoyance that people get the front diff replaced , I'm just wondering because the majority of the time almost all high milage tacomas have the vibe but never have any failures or major problems . I'm just wondering I mean I have the vibes I have minor driveline vibes and after ecgs bushing I still have off and on front diff 40mph drone I guess my thoughts at this point is very rarely does anything major brake due to vibes . So I guess if your a tacoma fan it's just something most of us will have to live with.

I'm sorry for not reading 108 pages but have read through some and trying to clarification before I order anything. I just left my 07 DCLB with expos in the rear and up 3" in the front with ads coilovers and MCM uca. Right away I got vibes. But my groaning noise pulses it will start for a couple seconds then go away and come back and this starts around 15-20mph and lasts up 40 mph. Then I get the vibes between 35 mph to 50 mph. This all goes away if in 4hi. Will the needle bearing correct this mostly or should I be looking at a differnt option. Thanks for the replies

Well from all my research and owning 3 tacomas that have done this the front diff bushing will quite down some of the 40ish mph drone but some of the vibes are from your ujoints being out of phase with the new angles

Actually I'll be taking my 1" lifting block out of the back and putting the rear back to stock ride height so what ever vibes are left will be coming from the lifted front at that point . I'll let you know tommorrow

That sounds like exactly what was happening on my 2011.. And yes when i installed the bushing it took all of my groans/vibes away. I had a 3' lift w/aal's.

Do you have the 1" block in the Rear if so what size carrier spacer are you running. I'm just curios because I installed the bushing and still have drone and vibes

Here's something funny. Last night we had a meet I drive there and the vibes are present. Before we left I hit hit a snow bank and went over it on purpose and now the vibes are are gone. How fucked up is that?

Sorry I had the the block only for about 2 weeks and switched over to the aal's. Vibes started about 5,000 miles after.

Hmm. Might just be temporarily subdued. Odd
