I'm looking at these 2 tires in P265/70/R17, just these two tires. Which one is better? Hankook is little cheaper with 5k miles less on warranty. They are both about $155/ea.

    Thanks.

Just between those, I would buy the Hankooks. I haven't had good luck with Cooper lately. I think their QC has gone downhill.

I would suggest a different tire but I will refrain. While you haven't said what you are looking for in tire performance, both are well-reviewed tires. I think they will be similar new, but there have been lots of reviews saying the traction and road noise go for shit on the Hankooks once they at 50% so I'd lean towards the Coopers

If they are at different tire shops I would choose based on the best tire shop. Both tires have good reviews and good warranties. Pick by looks, or availability, or flip a coin. Can't go too far wrong.

Right now I'm running cooper a/tw and the quality seems good enough.

I was trying to decide between these as well... I ended up going with the Cooper ATP's (265/70/17). I like the way they look and handle. They aren't as aggressive as some of the other tires out there, but I pretty much only drive on highways with a little offroading when I take the dirt bike out. They are great in the snow too... we recently had a pretty big storm and I had NO issues getting around.

How has the quality gone down hill .? If I were you I'd reccomend the AT/3 better tread compund and all around better tire... In all conditions....

I have the Hankooks. Can't tell you about snow performance, but have had them in light mud, gravel, and rock - have been very happy with them so far. Only have 8k on them so far so also can't say if they get noisy once treadwear gets down there, but so far I am impressed with the lack of noise on the road. Great in heavy rain too.
Guy at work has the Coopers and is not a fan.

Please explain how does A/T3 qualify for better tread compound? I like the LOOK of the ATP better but AT3 is easier to get since ATP is only sold by DiscountTires (my closest store is 50 miles away).

We use better rubber with more silica in it for better wet performance, also it's tread pattern is different, which outperforms the ATP, also has deeper tread lugs, the AT/3 is an all around better tire,... But it's up to you..
