+2. No current QB in the NFL reads defenses and audible at the line better than Peyton Manning.

Interesting. What that tells me is that the 49er's have a hell of a Red Zone defense.

Hmm, I might tell you that Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees are just as good. I think Peyton is better at misdirection and confusing the defense with fake calls and audibles. That's why they don't have much luck with Seattle, the Hawks play their base defense and just say beat us man to man. We're not changing to try and match you.

X2. Peyton even occasionally fakes out his own teammates when he does the chatty long snap. When he meets a defense that doesn't rely on getting the jump he forces a lot fewer offsides/neutral zone infraction calls, and it seems like you hear a lot fewer Omahas.

LOL know your audience? Any true 49er fan will never cheer for the Seahawks - and the same thing works vice versa. Maybe you wouldn't know since you like so many teams.

And don't ever edit my posts again. In this thread or another ;)

Can we please get back to talking Football :D

Here's the full story on deflategate:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...te-gate--and-gronk-takes-blame-144407663.html

No longer just a "butt hurt" Colts reporter.. Also not really about an advantage, just integrity. Reports are that if the balls had less air after the officials checked them pregame it could cost the Pats mightily in fines and draft picks. Goodell will look at this as a second blatant offense.

    Ouch...

Shrug. This article is again merely referencing a rumor started by a writer based in Indy and mentions that the league is investigating. Given that the ball spent however many minutes between the INT and being handed over to the officials on the Colts sideline, it could just have easily been the Colts who let the air out of the ball.

Given that there's been no proof uncovered as of yet that the Patriots deflated the ball, and given that the league has yet to finish an investigation or reach a decision, the story's getting a lot of coverage and the usual suspects are assuming (and advertising) guilt before anything more than rumor or innuendo has come to light and been published.

Not a fan but I respect his ability. I'd respect him as a person if he didn't come off as whiny, such as the year he lost in the AFC title game to the Pats (03 or 04, I forget) and he and Polian cried about it. I also remember him not shaking anyone's hand after a game this year..I believe it was vs the Pats.

Yea I never said anything about his character, which is of course subjective. 650 has hated on him for so long, but it's more so because he's the biggest homer in this thread. He has shown on plenty of occasions that his football knowledge isn't as up to par as his homerism. Albeit he contributes great memes to this thread :D

Couple things from the game this weekend...

There were two local Green Bay beat writers on in Seattle today, different shows in Seattle and they represented different papers in Wisconsin. When asked why Clay Matthews was not in the game for the final 4-5 minutes of the 4th qtr they both said "He was exhausted"

Clay Matthews was tired. Richard Sherman is playing with 1 arm and Earl Thomas separated his shoulder. Clay Matthews was tired.

Also according to both of them McCarthy wasn't happy with Rodgers comments after the game that they weren't aggressive enough on offense.

To Rodgers comment in his post game presser that GB was the "better team." Explain the TOTAL DOMINATION in the stats? 3-14 on 3rd down..

I will agree that the Seahawks play a basic man to man cover which prevents less confusion with motion sets. The only problem the secondary has to sort out is three receiver sets to one side with a natural screen and sorting out coverage.

I think the biggest issue was that Eddie Lacy wasn't used and I heard that was due to fatigue.
