What's the best year for the 2nd Gen Taco?

BTW, I made the poll so it's possible to vote for multiple answers.

Not really a fair question... But from '05-'08, I would say '07 because I think we have the better engine mounts than previous years and the older electrical system which is supposed to be better. Not that I have ever read of ANY problems with Tacoma's electrical system, this is just something I hear.
From '09-'11, I guess the '11. The difference here is a new grille insert and slightly nicer radio along with more traction control options. Then of course, '12-'15 in which I would say the '15. If you are going to buy one to keep, get a '15 or 3rd gen. If you're buying one to sell in a few years for a 3rd gen, get a 05'-08'.

    2013.

Last year of a proper rear view mirror with backup cam, temp and compass.... 2014-2015 have no other features or major changes (outside of standard 3+1 leaf packs on all 6 lug tacos after october 2014) but the TSB for driveline vibes get you a 4 leaf pack on the 2013.

I didn't know my 2013 had an exclusively cool mirror. Did they drop the temp and compass in the 14 and 15? Or did they move the camera view?

Edit: You answered my question as I typed it.

If you're looking for a good deal used, 2009 should be the cheapest/best deal whilst still getting all the safety features and bells/whistles that came standard from that year forward. The only thing really missing from that to say an '11 (or '12-15 for that matter) is the fancy radios and perhaps the signal mirrors... Both of which can be retrofitted if necessary.
But I too am biased :)

I have a 14 but I picked 15. I never buy first year design, and assume (hope) that the last year of a design would be the most bug proof. Not necessarily true in all cases I know.

95% of the people here haven't owned anything but the tacoma they currently drive. the results of the poll will just more or less identify which model years are the most commonly owned lol
