that's what i say, have no idea what I was thinkin really, lets see how far I can take this one lol

No I took that pic while driving :anonymous:

well put it this way I picked it up for less than the cost of the crawbox for the taco. Already got a lead on a set of axles for it gonna go check em out this week.

LOL, yeah i drove it home 2 hours from MD. Drives fine but the gas gauge, 4wd light, ebrake light, rear window don't work. I have the window jimmy rigged right now with a toggle switch in the back so I can open the tailgate. Going to redo the wiring and already picked up an SR5 gauge cluster and clinomiter thingabob so I will swap that out soon. Hoping it's the gauge and not the sender for the gas cause I really don't feel like dropping the tank right away.

Only the best for a classic. Those multi pin stripes would give me a headache though, kinda looks like a zebra.

Thanks man. Yeah I've been feeling bad about cutting up the truck and he gets lonely sitting in the driveway so now there will be a friend to keep him company while I'm not around. I can't wait to dive into the SAS but I'll have to collect parts for a while so it probably wont' start until the summer at least.

    tanks marthis.

Dammit, that wiring sounds fun. Dropping an empty gas tank is pretty easy. I had my half full tank out in 10 min. The rear window has a few components to check. The switch, the relay behind the driver's side interior panel next to back seat (if it clicks it most likely works), a safety switch under a hard top bolt, the rear wiper is on a safety switch, and the window regulator. Just work your way back troubleshooting, but make sure all the hard top bolts are in first.

Coo,l maybe it won't be as bad as I thought then if I have to replace the seinding unit. I've read 4crawlers thread on the window troubleshooting and the FSM. I plan to just eliminate all the window, wiper, and topper switch interlocks and wire the window directly to the switch. Anybody who puts the window up while the top is down is beavis'd. The latch and locking mechanism kind of fell apart in the back of the tailgate so I'm going to search for another tailgate with extra parts.

That's mainly why I'm keeping the '85 tailgate

And you don't HAVE to drop the tank. Lift the rear seat and pull up the carpet if equipped, you will find a clever hatch to access the pump and sending unit.

Ah ok, thanks I'll see if I have time this weekend to mess with it. I have a feeling I'll probably be bothering you about a bunch of stuff in the near future . I'm hoping I can find another junk framed runner I can buy for super cheap and use for spare interior parts.

I'm looking at a 92 pickup saturday. Little newer than I want but it's only 300 and needs a motor. Don't even want to bother but it'll be driveable for under 1k
