how much? I see that you can still use your hitch with it. Is that a common thing or more unique to this bumper?

    Thanks. That makes sense.
Not FF but my first plate bumper (non HC) utilized the hitch mounting points so you could only have a hitch integrated into the bumper. My HC is the same but this time around I went with the integrated hitch. I'd rather have the bumper use the hitch mounting points too for added strength and rigidity.

I paid 710 with free shipping from wheelers and it was here in like 3 days. Lady's insurance who hit me, paid me out 1800 bucks for everything, and I opted to just rip the bumper off and put that one on. And I did research first, and its one of very few that allow you to keep the factory hitch. I just figured I paid for the tow package, I wanted to keep it on there. 120 lbs and smooths out my back end from the AAL's I installed with my lift. Not so hoppy

Finally got a chance to lube the driveshaft. Judging from the amount of grease they took and the black paint flaking off the zerks I would guess this was the first time. Way to go Toyota service!

What insurance do you have? I've heard a lot of people who do this, get the money instead of getting repairs. I've never been offered that choice... Do I have to ask for it or do not all insurance companies allow you to take the cash? I have State Farm. If I ever get in another accident, which I'm sure I will, I'd love to just take the cash and get something new myself.

I love my tow package too, and I don't think I'd want to remove it for a bumper, unless said bumper was able to tow just as much as the tow package.

When you say it used the hitch mounting points, does that mean the bumper essentially could tow as much as the hitch would?

Sorry, rear bumpers is something I'm trying to understand more because I see a lot of people who want to keep their hitch and then I hear a lot of contradictory explanations as to how it all works.

Love this bumper. Are there safe points for a hi lift?

It plugs into the oem hole and you have to play to wire up 2 wires. I cut the plug off the oem and wired it to the new one so it plugs into the harness like original. This is best pic of the one I had on the 05 AC............

Theoretically I guess its as strong as the weakest point on the bumper since its all integrated. I have a Relentless HC and know that it isn't DOT certified/rated to tow a certain amount. But I also bought my truck to froad, not tow. As long as it can pull my ATV around when I need it I'm happy.

If you tow a lot at the maximum amount and are worried about liability if shit hits the fan I probably wouldn't go the route I did.

Appreciate that explanation. I don't tow at max capacity nor do I tow extremely often but I use my truck probably equally for off roading, towing, and as my daily driver. I'd figure then I'd probably be fine doing my normal towing with a off road bumper

I have geico. The lady who hit me had state farm. I actually went as far as setting up the body shop with state farm to create an appt with them, before I called them up and asked if I could just get the payout. State farm was super helpful and I got the check in like 3 days of calling to change it to a pay out. I got off the phone, they called the body shop to confirm the quote, and make sure they hadn't already started ordering parts, called me back in 5 minutes time and told me the check would be on its way.

As far as towing. I forget the brand of the other bumper I was looking at, but when I called them, to ask if I could keep the factory receiver, they said that they did have their bumper certified as a class 3, and I said the two package is class IV, at which point the guy told me that it didn't matter because tacomas couldn't tow class IV weight, and that class 3 would suffice. I hope I made some sense with that...
