Need Advice! Drive Line Vibrations

So I got a Toytec 3" lift done about 2 weeks ago and one of the first things I noticed was a slight vibration off the drive line between 5-15 mph. I immediately called to the place that did the lift to tell them of the vibes. They told me to drive it for about 500 miles to see if it would dissipate after changing out soooo much of the suspension.

So I am still having the problem with the vibrations which are minimal at this point but still there. Is this something that I should invest time and money into fixing (not sure how much time or money) or is a slight vibration something that the truck can live with? Is this going to make for a problem in the future if I don't take care of it now?

The place doing the work wants to put shims in to try and correct the issue. If this does not work, they are telling me a solid axle should do the trick. Is this the correct order to fix the problem?

I know your thread is a little old, but everything you said sounds about right. I am currently in the process of getting my drive line vibrations fixed. I first tried dropping the carrier bearing which helped, but didn't eliminate the problem. I then put in axle shims, which moved the vibrations from ~20mph to ~5mph. My next step is to swap out the drive line for a one piece. I'm taking it to a local shop that will fabricate a one piece drive shaft next week.

Every truck seems to be a little different... probably based on the different lifts that are installed. So trying the various modifications that have worked for other people is your best bet... and hope that one of them work for you.

Fixing the vibrations is a good idea... because they will drive you nuts after awhile.

 

Thanks azTRD! I had a feeling like I was getting the right answers from the install place, but wanted to make sure of it. I think I am going to live with the vibes until it either breaks at the point the two peices join or have enough money to get the one piece axle.

One way or the other, this sucks. Live with vibes or pay for the one piece.

Oh well, I LOVE the lift so its worth it.
