    Me too. Clean and unobtrusive. Keeps the cost down drastically too. The Deutsch connectors are costly. They could easily add $10-$30 per male female set to the overall cost of the boxes. I could have this as an option.

    So the 14 gauge thing... Yeah, What I am talking about would be 1" wide x .5" tall x .75" long. Then having the harness behind that.


    See, SPOD has the HUGE connector on the end. Some people want it and if I was able to find a smaller form factor one, I would be inclined to get it. The requirement I have is that I want it easily passed through the firewall.

    What I might do is see if I can terminate the Deutsch pins, stagger them in the harness, then try to pull it through. <- If I can do it in this manner, then we would be able to put the connector together on the opposite side of the firewall once pulled.

    Yes Dane, This is where I have been thinking it should be. Then again, I didn't want it to be too difficult for some of the user base.

    Oh, and Dane, those are your two items pictured above.

    see this pic here> Most installers just take a knife and cut a large hole to pull things through. What I did on the install is used the factory nipple and i removed ALL of those wires for the client.

    Wait, what? What nipple are you talking about? The actual firewall plug? That gap there is what I basically have now and I can wedge some big stuff through there. The connector would be a bitch but with enough tape and willpower, I bet I could get it through without damaging anything.

    I've found the key is to wrap tape around it all to streamline stuff stuffed take the edges away. Then it slides right through. Whhhhhhammy.

    See the black antennae coming through right below the main harness? On your truck you should have one of those but with a 'nipple' over it. My installs, I tell people to cut the nipple off as much as they can. Then shove the antennae through. Shove the antennae into the loom from my harness and tape it up with duct or electrical tape. pull it through and done.

    Yes and no. They are cut down plates from Yotamac, I cut, sanded, painted, then baked at 350º for 20 min.

    I think we just crammed an antenna through wherever we could and made a hole.

    Have you drilled holes in the fire wall? Is it hard and what did you use for a way to protect the wires from the metal and keep water out of the cab?

    If you are referring to running skygear's harness, use the rubber nipple technique he has shown a couple times. It is way easy, clean and safe.
