Long Travel BS Thread

    TRD S/C, Camburg LT, DMZ SUA, SAW Shocks in all four corners, Glassworks hood, fenders and Bedsides, 35" Toyo MT, KMC Enduros
    I think it's a really really tight fit as is in the back firewall and driver side area is taken up slightly by the charger itself. Now adding an engine cage, that's going to be even tougher. I still look at mine some days and wonder how I could incorporate an engine cage around the supercharger

    The only thing I can think of is a slightly taller hood for a crossover, I guess. I'm hoping whoever does my crossover can make it fit with a stock hood, or its back to the drawing board lol

    Bummer! Good luck with FedEx. They should take care of the seller so you can get your money back and maybe order another.

    Now that you mention that, I'm going to have to check once I install the Glassworks hood I got last month. It doesn't have any of the under bracing except for where it mounts to the factory hinges so that might give me extra room for the engine cage.

    I was thinking if I have to remove some of the center bracing, or at least carve some of it out of the stock hood that should be ok, otherwise yea, fiberglass hood it is.

    SC, camburg LT up front, with a cross brace over the engine connecting the secondary shock mounts together for support, all the TC gussets for the front end. DMZ rear end with fully boxed frame and new cross members.

    Someday I'll look into caging, for now I'm gonna work on tuning and start putting money into armor and lockers and gear and tires lol

    Ditch the S/C and get a rear end. You'll have more fun with a 9" rear and stock motor than you will with a S/C on a stock rear end. That's just my opinion though?

    For a weekend warrior I think I'll have alot more fun going to work with it than my 1 trip or so a month I'll be using the LT. So I'm gonna go ahead and do what 90% of the people on here do and go with LT and not caged for the first few years until I have to many close calls and finally have the cash to cage it.

    Sounds about right. Pretty sure every single person that has LT'd there truck without a cage has had many of those 'oh shit' moments and pondered a cage. Some decide their life is worth it. Others like to live dangerously as well and decide against it or can't afford it, whatev. Point being, why drop several thousand if not tens of thousands of dollars on something you don't quite know that you need.

    And before someone says "well you don't know that you need LT" I happen to think I do. I've got about as far as I can with MT and feel that it is not enough.
