I am going to assume puts butter on after. I thought boiling was the only way to cook them

yeah we half-cooked them in a pressure cooker first just to get them going, then put them in the steamer for a little to pick up the flavor. doesn't pick up the smoke flavor all too well but was just enough to make it a little different than just plan steam/boiling. we also did smoked salmon that was the best smoked fish I've ever had in my life. and the next day cold on crackers was even better! trying to decide what to make for mod day...more than likely I'll do ribs unless the price is stupid....and then maybe a nice tri-tip or something like that. if someone brings rolls we can make tri-tip sandwiches. I don't know but i'm hungry already...

Well that sounds bomb! Did you dip the artichoke in anything or just eat it smoked? And just let me know if you go with tri-tip. I can get rolls and stuff.

I just like dipping it in mayo but sometimes I make this garlic and blue cheese butter dip that's pretty bomb diggity too. but the leaves were pretty tasty on their own too.

I'll end up making the decision the night before when I go to buy meats. I'll let you know if I need anything.
