The stock spare gets just as much attention as the rest of the truck lol
Like I have said over and over again... when I go to a true high clearance bumper it will finally go away. But it doesn't hurt me by hanging out under there until then :D

as if you need a stock spare for a conversation piece with your rig....

    COME ON MAN!

replace it with a keg of beer and CO2 system...now THAT would be a conversation piece worth keeping around!

A few guys I know remove the shell in the summer and put it on in the winter to keep the bed free of snow.

also why would you need to conceal a keg? ..... im from louisiana though. Officers will ask you to hold their beer while they write you a speeding ticket.

After running and exposed set-up I just realized that it was more of a headache for me and what I typically do or places I go. I think it looks cool and "manly" lol especially with the military cover I had made for it.

Originally my thought process was to use the shell during the winter months but I have been so happy with this one that it won't be coming off. Overall much better protection from the elements and I think it looks great as well — just not quite as tough as the bar/canvas look.

Thanks! I have a few more things in store before the TDS event in March :D

I was shocked actually. I submitted a couple photos to contest and woke up to an email saying I won a GoPro. I had to read it a few times and let the wife read it to make sure I wasn't losing my mind and reading it correctly lol

Now I just need to start using it though!

Thats cool. I have been looking for a shell my self. I love my all pro rack but would like a little more protection and also would like to just lay out back there when i go camping in crappy weather instead of setting up the tent....... although RTT would be killer too.

I've had a soft shell also. The Bestop version and it was great at first but they do wear out and you don't have the same security but the convenience of folding it down was really nice. I finally sold mine because when wet it would start to have a weird smell which drove me crazy.

I would stay HardShell though so you can add racks tents etc on top when needed though.
