NFL Trash Talkers Thread

I get that all the time. I grew up in New England, but live in Colorado now. When the two play each other I go for the Pats....but I always like Elway and the Broncos organization. I am also a huge motocross rider and ride KTM's which are orange...so like the Broncos uniforms. (I know that's a girly reason lol)

 

I don't like Seattle, I do like Peyton even though he chokes in the playoffs and I don't like the 49ers.

 

See I like the Broncos but not a fan of Peyton...I feel he is overrated.

 

Said it before but I'll say it again; what amuses me is the disparity.

In Week 13 the Vikings played the Panthers and both teams were warming the balls up on the sidelines because it was 12 degrees out (completely illegal according to league rules) and nobody cares.

In Week ?6? Aaron Rodgers admits to Phil Simms in a pregame interview that his team overinflates the balls and hopes that the refs don't notice because he likes a very hard football (completely illegal according to league rules) and nobody cares.

The Pats are accused of playing with underpressurized balls (completely illegal according to league rules) and everyone (sports writers, social media, and especially fans of rival teams) loses their shit.


Everyone in these scenarios were doctoring their balls, but there were no rabid fans screaming for fines and loss of draft picks until the Pats did it.
The irony here is worth a chuckle, whether you're a Pats fan or not.

1) not a huge game, much colder temperatures, both teams doing it.

2) overinflating is generally accepted to make everything harder to do (pass, catch, hold,) so it doesn't really give an advantage.

3)gives a distinct advantage, wasn't both teams, high stakes game.

 

Have to tell it like it is, there's a lot of truth to this. Not all people, but some. Hell I get called the same type of stuff here as a Pats fan, who has been critical of them when deservedly so.

 

More recently, yeah I'll agree..it's always easy to hate a winner if they aren't your team..

Born and raised in MA. Never left but 1 year in NY when I was 5 yrs old.

I'm an old Broncos fan..and a huge Elway fan. Don't care for Peyton personally..and still a Wes Welker fan, was even when he was in Miami

 

I'd be warming my balls up on the sideline too if it was 12 degrees...

 

I'll always be a Peyton fan because i'm from TN and our whole state rides his nuts. I can't honestly say I think he she could come back next year though unfortunately.

 

1) Still illegal, and being done blatantly in full view of the crowd, cameras, and more importantly the Referees.

2) Aaron Rodgers has ginormous hands, so he has no problem gripping a ball even if it is overinflated (and in fact prefers them that way since he finds them easier to throw accurately and in a tight spiral), therefore granting him and his receivers an advantage (all of these things openly admitted to during his interview)

3) Made no difference in said huge game. Brady's passing stats were extremely low, they ran the ball the majority of the time, and the Colts lost by such a spectacular amount that it wouldn't have mattered if the Patriots were using balls carved from solid blocks of granite.


My amusement is unaffected.

Jesus, no wonder he's had such a rough time the last couple of post-season. I'd collapse by the end of the season if I had an entire state riding on my testicles too...
