Are you trying to discredit your own figures as well? Who cares if he really does get 18, and you really do get 15, and the million factors involved that make the difference. Driving style probably makes the biggest difference anyways :stirthepot:

Ha! I didn't even realize that score was in your sig until you said something. I thought he was talking about the conversation from like a month or two ago.

...and that's the problem. Apples to apples a 10ply 33" tire will without a doubt decrease your fuel economy of a 6 ply 31" tire. So you saying that you get XXmpg with 33's effectively tells us nothing as there are far too many variables.

Yes, I am trying to discredit my figures to prove a point. Too many variables to say any one mod is the reason you get XXmpg.

I jokingly said he's going to get single digit MPG but the fact of the matter is something as seemingly small as going from a 6ply to a 10ply tire makes a HUGE difference in unsprung weight which directly affects your MPG negatively. Just like if the guy who gets 18mpg went from 33's to 29's in a light duty truck he's likely get a 1-2mpg bump in fuel economy w/o any other changes.

In summary: He's comparing apples to aardvarks by saying he gets 18mpg with 33's.

Actually that's the talk with my buddy in fairplay so that's why we're are getting after it this weekend. He dropped a bunch of cash on a few different set ups. The problem he will run into is having someone there on a regular basis doing things the way he wants them done. But we are going to test out a few different set ups. He's looking for something to do because he's bored but dosent want to be there all day every day.

Yeah, my work van gets low 9's in the winter because of this.

I figure 3-4 bucks to warm it up. Worth every penny.

I averaged 14 on my wide 32 trail grapplers over the holidays going back and forth from Alabama. I was getting 19 or so before lift and tires. Never got 21
