Well, good on you, brother. You also have much more travel that will allow you to go that much faster. I'm gonna focus on the initial mods needed and worry about the rest later.

It will make it "match" but it's still going to be a spray can quality job, so expect it to last accordingly. For a truck you beat through the bushes its not a big deal. But if you ever decide to have your glass painted properly at a reputable shop, they will have to strip all of it off. Because spraycan.

That's not true at all, proper painting techniques can result in a professional job just fine. You're just paying a shop to spend the time and energy you don't want to. Took me a good solid 3 days or so painting mine and allowing coats to dry to sand down and such. proper sanding step down, and polishing and waxing often enough for upkeep.

People come to tacomaworld to try and get decent advice, you're doing a bad job on this subject bty.. I run a Paint and Body Shop Supply store and paint cars etc, and we steer everyone away from a non-catalyzed spray can when ever possible. It's not the right way to do it and all your friends will think it looks like shit, even tho they might not tell you.

Not everyone wants to spend $400+ on a "professional" paint job only to see it scratched up on a trail. After I painted mine, I parked next to someone who had professional painted glass and it looked just as good. So let us know when you come down off your high horse, Mr. Professional Painter, and welcome to the real world.

It's all House of Kolor paint on the Tundra. It's been very abused tho, so it doesn't look that great anymore. It should be getting re-painting within a year tho, i've got the new design sketched out, just gotta pick the colors now. Hoping to switch the glass to the 2014 model tho, so waiting for someone to finish with their conversion glass.

Saving my life is obviously the biggest benefit of a cage, but most don't realize how much better it makes the truck handle. Without a cage the frames flexes so much it changes the handling, especially when you beat on it how LT is supposed to. Not to mention it adds wear and tear on the entire frame and cab flexing all over the place. If I ever build another truck the cage goes in before anything else, even if just for handling reasons. Just my .02

I didnt mean it as negative, it looks really good, even for being abused ;)

Lol I had a terrible day at work I just was trying to stir the pot. No I agree with both sides. Some people honestly don't need a cage and that's just the fact of the matter. People might think so, but not everyone is gonna be running their truck like Jono, or others do.

Lol, my cage is done. I'm just waiting for the ever so illusive links that are supposedly being made.

Yea I just don't see myself going balls to the wall out in the desert. I like going fast on occasion, hence the SC, but I'm more comfortable on a mountain trail enjoying the scenery. I do like hopping out to the desert though and running with TW'ers over some fun stuff though!

Thanks, it looks pretty good compared to a lot of other trucks i've seen. Truck was actually red originally.

Next truck I build, roll cage is the first item on the list as well.

So I'm selling my 35's (17r) if anyone is interested in 4 Maxxis Bighorns 450 bucks firm (60%) no plugs, chunks, even wear, etc. they go for about 285 a pop new (pick up only). They will be available in about two weeks.

My front fenders are duplicolor silver and im planning on painting my bedsides with duplicolor too this weekend. The color matches well but its not gloss because the po just kinda half ass sprayed it. I went to maaco to get a cheap quote and got quoted 800 for the bedsides (I think the maaco here is more quality than most which is why) but still way too expensive for me. Obviously having a body shop paint the fenders would look way better without a doubt and im not going to put in the prep work they do but the duplicolor is a good enough paint for the time being especially when itll be getting scratched up and what not. I rather put that $800 towards something else, front bypasses, rear bumps, tires, etc. If I can find a half ass body shop to spray them for 2-300 I would do it lol

On the topic of caging, for me a cage is coming asap when I have enough money. When I ride dirtbikes I ride with a leatt and a nice helmet just in case, to me you cant put a price on your life. I'll still do trips without the cage but as soon as I can I want to get it caged
