    Also, this math is very incorrect. You can't use Fahrenheit in this equation. It needs to be in Kelvin and when you do the math correctly the end result of the ball dropping from 70 to 46 is 86.5kPa which is still within specs. Chemistry bitch.

    And taking into account the fact that a football outside is farrrrr from an ideal system, the pressure drop would be even less.

    Wrong.

    The patriots probably store their footballs in a heated environment as well. Like, actually heating the footballs, so that psi would drop due to science, not cheating. IMO, unless someone from the patriots organization admits to deflating them, there is no way cheating can be proven, way too many variables to find evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

    I have you on mute because you annoy me. But I saw you asked for a link.

    http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?...4.mobile-heirloom-serp..8.8.656.cqUHAoBBN_Q"}
    "ESPN Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City reported that the Patriots' footballs were tested at the half, reinflated at that time when they were found to be low, then put back in play for the second half, and then tested again after the game. The report did not reveal the results of the test following the game. All of the balls the Colts used met standards, according to the report."

    All met standards as of when? It never says they tested the colts balls at half because they didn't. Also, that article is wrong, or there are other versions of that story leading to more evidence of hearsay... ive also read the patriots used backup balls, so what's true?? Oh that's right, we don't fucking know.

    That "science" you posted is very very wrong. Change the degrees Fahrenheit to kelvin and see what you get.

    Also, I actually calculated incorrectly since I didn't convert to celcius then kelvin. So with correct numbers the final pressure is almost 89kPa. The weather didn't drop the ball to 10.5psi.

    As I see it, I'm waiting for the NFL report once they wrap it up.

    If they find the Patriots guilty of wrongdoing, then anyone who can be proven participated in this deserves crucifixion. Not necessarily the whole team, coaching staff, et al..but the ones who have the dirty hands.

    Yeah I'm a Patriots fan. I also believe what's right is what's right.

    While I freely admit not having read up on the temperature drop theories, either what's been posted here or otherwise, I feel it important to remember that Sunday night in MA was rather warm. We are not talking about a 10 degree game temperature as was the case with the Baltimore Ravens game.

    Could it still have happened for that reason? Perhaps..again, haven't read up on the theories. But I'd be more likely to believe it had the temp been 10-15 degrees as I mentioned.

    You're right, so that's my point about storing the balls in a heater... I mean, it's not totally unbelievable that they'd do that. Then you take them out of a heater at 90F, get them approved after cooling, then cool them even more outside when they bring them out (only takes about half an hour to get air pressure in the ball to be even with air temp outside). I mean, I'm sure they have a guy that mathematically figures this shit out to an exact equation. They're not deflating the balls at that point, they're just choosing how they'd like to store them based on the results of how they were stored. I'm not saying this is what happens, my point is that no one knows, and if this is what happens, it's not cheating. No one knows.

    Before the game. There's no mention of their balls tested at half time. Please find a link for that if you're going to claim it.

    whatever you say. The truth is that no one here knows what happened. There are no reliable sources for anything, and everything being reported is being contradicted by other reports. When the nfl talks, we'll know.
