    I wouldn't cage a daily driver.

If you're pushing the DD so hard you need a cage, you need to rethink your decision making.

Doesnt hurt imo, never know when your local icecream truck runs a stop sign on your way to the mall... but really its not pushing hard as much as it is that were in a dangerous sport, driving over terrain that changes day after day...bottom line is shit happens.

In the long run I want my truck to be the desert only truck and have a small car to dd

The only bitch about daily driving a caged truck is the harnesses but you get used to them fast

    Almost everything
Or you make it so you can use the stock belts too. It's pretty nice in my truck to just put on the stock belts on for around town and when a trip is planned just clip in the harnesses.

If been in a rollover on the street, I was all over the cab with no cage and stock seat belts. Don't need to be bashing my head on tubing if anything ever happens.

What are you trying to say man? I have over 50,000 caged miles on my truck, and I like driving it every day. I used to be a tow truck driver. It's amazing how many accident scenes I saw with filled body bags that even a simple B pillar hoop would have saved lives. My neighbor died last November in his Jeep. He was in first gear on a road I could have driven my Grandma's Camry down.

I'm not debating that added safety value of a caged truck.

I'm saying that if you are pushing it so hard offroad in your DD that you feel you need (difference between "want" and "need") a cage, you should reevaluate the way you use your DD. After all, the DD has to get you to work the next day.

Selling body washers in different sizes and colors, we got aluminum, stainless steel, delrin, and billet at the shop if anyone needs some

I've got that one thing, and that other one thing, oh yeah and that other other one thing.
    That's crazy.

So how much is it to cage then (on average)? Never had a caged vehicle before, and it's going to happen eventually anyway.

Cage with seats, you are looking between $5000 and $10000 depending on how fancy it gets and the shop that does it. Mine was $5500, but I know of a few people that spent $7000+.

It's labor intensive, and eats up way more material than you would think.

I did mine for $500 in tubing. My bender was $400, the welder was $200, the tubing notcher was $100...so if you want to count tools, gussets, consumables around $1500-$2000 DIY.
