Shouldn't you get another nap in? :notsure:

First shift, indeed first week of night shifts, is always rough.

Hey Rob sorry to hear about Bear. Sounds like he's doing better. My wife is a VetTech she says dogs have amazing recuperative abilities. As long as no infection gets in he most likely will be alright (fingers crossed) How did your sons dog faire?
    Any snow yet?

Son's dog was unscathed, he's a big German Shepherd. There was a fence between them and the Akitas; they were just running along and pushing against the fence at each other. I didn't see it, but I suspect Bear got trampled on by Loki (son's dog) in the ruckus. Bear's problem is not enough @ss to back-up his attitude; common trait in Skipperkes (he's a mix). He only barks at the Akitas from the deck when Loki isn't here ... but when Loki's here he gets bold because his big buddy is there to back him. It's actually kind of amusing, but cost him this time.

Skipperke temperment info I found on Wikipedia: "Known for a stubborn, mischievous, and headstrong temperament, it also chases small animals. The Schipperke is sometimes referred to as the "little black fox", the "Tasmanian black devil", or the "little black devil". They are naturally curious and high-energy dogs and require ample exercise and supervision. Schipperkes are very smart and independent; and sometimes debate listening to owners, instead choosing to do whatever benefits them the most, and are not necessarily the proper dog for a first-time dog owner. Schipperkes require training and a secure, fenced-in space to run. They are formidable barkers and can be aggressive with other dogs. Otherwise they are all over good dogs, and their personality is a matter of how they are raised, and who they are around. They often have a high prey drive, focusing on rodents and small animals, and can excel at obedience and agility competitions."

EDIT: And thanks for your concern ... I really think he's gonna be fine. No snow yet, but Winter Advisory issued starting 4PM Thursday; 10 inches by Friday evening predicted with some additional accumulation through Saturday evening. We can use the snow.

Turned out I wasn't on call after all. Super put himself and made new schedule that shows me 2nd week of February. Been off call since thanksgiving. :anonymous:

We get 1-3" here and there. It melts when we get a warming trend. Doesn't break my heart lol. The weather lady just said up to 6" in parts of TX today:eek:

Up here, lack of snow in Winter equates to extreme dry conditions in Summer, which equals high forest fire potential. It also effects salmon returns when the water level in the rivers is low.

Still some crazy weather patterns happening last couple years.
