    Good morning folks!

Rob, how is Bear's eye healing? Many moons ago, my left one was out of the socket. It was popped out for a repair job behind it. Basically it was pop out and pop back in. I never experienced any discomfort afterward beyond having to use antibiotic drops for a while.

No news is good news from this end.

    Morning all:
Good to hear about the pup doing better Rob, hope all works out well.

I was always told that the winter gas had a different blend of whatever than summer gas. Don't know what they change, but it sure drops gas mileage.

Glad you could avoid having an accident Sue, I have had a few close calls over the years and consider myself just plain lucky on some of them.

    Afternoon sixtys!

Paul, thanks for calling me mature. My wife definitely thinks otherwise! Rob, good to hear that Bear's recovery is progressing, and that he is 'bearing up' well under the circumstances. ;) Sue, good that you were paying attention! That might have been nasty otherwise. Paul, same to you. Head-on is no fun, just ask my neighbors. They were hit head-on just before Christmas; she's home but only has one usable foot at the moment, and he's still in the rehab hospital with two mangled legs.

Winter gas has a higher vaporization rating (RVP) than summer gas, to make vehicles easier to start on cold days. I think it also reduces the amount of pollutants. Unfortunately it also reduces the amount of energy per gallon, so MPGs go down in winter. They add stuff like butane to get the RVP where they want it.

I'm fortunate to have a station within 5 miles that sells ethanol-free gas. Unfortunately they stop at 91 octane, so no rocket fuel for the STi. :p Here's a great link for locating stations that carry ethanol free gas.

    evening boys

Gotta love the way some folks drive.... was passed by TWO morons the other morning over a double yellow line  because I didn't get up to speed fast enough  I'd heard the popo won't do anything unless they see the violation - good they took your word.

I need to check on a pure gas place... for gas for the mower and weed eater. See if they run better :notsure:

    :yay: doesn't happen often enough

Yeah, been lucky on several occasions. Just  my brakes never fail me.

 your neighbors get better fast. Yeah, head-ons are never a good thing. My son's mentor - good friend of his, was killed when some punk kid in a durango crossed the center line and hit Gil's ton and a half truck. Don't know if the accident or the fire killed him. Really hope it was the accident. It was an old truck with only lap belts. Gil ran off the road to avoid the punk, but he didn't make it far enough over :(

Didn't know they changed gas mixtures.... but thanks for the info

Morning Tom. :) This is my long week/short break (work thru Sat night) ... Gonna try to get Christmas lights down and put back away. Was gonna do that last Monday, but ended up comforting Bear all day. I've really spoiled that little guy, he wasn't happy unless he was sitting on my lap for the first 24 hrs after the accident.

How about you? Kitchen project starts in about a week and a half, yes? I'm sure you'll be happy to get that underway.

Hey Tom, What is your opinion on these? Just saw one on craigslist NIB for $40; guy ordered for wrong truck. My grill, and now my towing mirrors are chrome. I've got a couple chips at the leading edge of my hood that I need to tend to when things warm up this Spring. Thought this might prevent further issues there?

After working out I need to get some firewood for the weekend. We are supposed to have a wintery mix all weekend. Next up is to get the laundry room packed up and cabinets off the wall. I might try to paint the laundry room on Sunday.

I also want to continue to pack up the kitchen and get a little head start on that part of the project. Next week will be the packing of the kitchen and relabeling the cabinets for redeployment in the laundry room and in the garage. The garage will be a springtime project do those cabinets will go into the shed and out of the way.

I need to take a few before pics for the project.

I will look when I get back home. Of it attaches to the underside of the hood it will be ok. I need to look at mine to see who the maker is .

Have you found a good source for your wood yet? How's the price on firewood over there?

And yes you do ... I think I left the popcorn wagon parked over by the porch. Yep, there it is. ;)
