    I doubt if the NFL really cares about this flat football deal. The NFL is all about money and this incident will only draw more interest and viewership to the superbowl and that means more money in Goddell's pocket.

    In the end, some ball boy is going to take the fall and the Pats organization will probably put some $ in his bank account shortly after, and the issue will be over. Right now, the NFL is hoping to just get through media day, hope for a really competitive SB, and then after, hope that everyone talks about the SB and not deflate gate

    So while I will tell you I know nothing about this. While stationed in San Deigo they would let the Marines Volunteer for security work. We got to go in the locker rooms, meet the cheerleaders and be down on the field before, during and after the game. I used to see all the footballs stored inside of a cooled/chilled container chest looking thing. So temperature control of the footballs is def not a new practice with NFL teams. Whether they were official game balls or not....I have no idea.
