People have mounted it in the truck bed but I haven't seen anyone swap factory rails with it. People have swapped factory rails for unistrut. If I really needed the extra tie down versatility sure but I don't.

I have 2 lengths of "L/airline/O/whatever people want to call it" track mounted in my truck bed because it made more sense in my application to bolt things to the floor with this stuff than to the rails.

It would work just fine. I saw it on a T100, or a Tundra, on EXPO that did it. I have a bit of L-Track in my truck bed and it's great stuff!

I might be swapping out my stock tracks for this.

Do it, take pictures and write it up. I may follow in your path. You may have to use something like rivnuts for the mounting holes.

I have a shell on my truck so I would need to do what MotoDave (EXPO) did to get the mounting studs for the shell clamps.

Glad this got bumped. I planning on 2 strips of angled on the bed floor and replacing the factory stuff on the rails with L track. Better pricing than what I was originally going to use.

    https://www.macscustomtiedowns.com . I was going with versatie.

Tomorrow I'll take delivery of two 4' sections of L-Track. I was not planning on replacing the stock bed rails with it, but I'll compare and see how the bolt holes line up. For what it's worth I have worked with the L-Track before, by cutting it to custom length, drilling and countersink holes. Because it's aluminum, it's really easy to cut and shape.

It works for me, I plan on extending it and applying to the tailgate as well.

^ Very nice. (nice pics too!)

I'm about half way done installing numerous 12" sections in the truck bed.

    Just bought it!
Looks great! I had the D-rings on my bed bolts, and that combined with the tie down rails I was very happy with the way I could tie things down. Traded in my truck and miss it big time. I plan on buying some L-track from US Cargo Control(wonder if it's possible to get it undrilled so I can put my own holes in it where they need to be??). I'd love to mount some on the floor of the bed like this too, but I hate to start drilling holes in an aluminum bed. Would've been fine on the Tundra bed but I'm too paranoid about it rusting now if I was to start drilling holes in it.

    No clue
Seen some of the L-track on McMaster Carr for a not bad price but the width says its 1-3/8" and it seems the valleys between the ridges are 1-1/4". Thoughts? I do like these better than the stock Toyota rotating d rings.
