There has been a lot of talk about the new Tacoma. I am excited to see it in person. While trying to find as much info as I can I am still left wondering. Will they have a cargo light for the bed? I mean it's so simple yet it's a deal breaker for me. Another deal breaker that I have not found out yet are the valve stem caps. It must have the reverse threaded Icelandic caps. These are far superior to anything else and must be on the new Tacoma for me to buy one.
Can't wait to to hear if any of yall know these critical details.
Also is there any word on Bilstein making those swanky 5100 shock things for the new Tacoma.

    *sigh*

It's this thread again. Tex, I gotta warn you, there have been more threads than I can keep track of where this has been discussed until it got locked, deleted, or a group of 3 to 4 posters got themselves so worked up they spontaneously combusted.

As a Texan, I just wanted you to have fair warning. Brace yourself...haters are coming.

I too, am interested to find out about the caps that go on the valve stems. I saw a report in popular mechanics last months that talked about them, and I am very excited to learn more.
One more thing I noticed that maybe someone can help me clarify. In the bed, near the back. It looks like there is a trap door or something. Did anyone else see this? What do you think that could be?

Man, I was only disappointed about the drivetrain, exterior, interior, and apparent engineering stagnation.

Dissappointed? I don't understand. I don't have anything to prove, maybe that's why I don't need a bigger engine to prove anything. Good things come in small packages.

Heh, it was a bit of a joke on a joke thread. I actually think the drivetrain is likely to be the best part of the updates. The other three items, though... :)

Seriously guys? You haven't heard of the caps?

And that's great news about the bed light!

Along the side of the bed? That's a storage cubby hole. My 12 has them. I'm not positive but I think Toyota discontinued them in later models. I guess they're coming back

I think he was talking about the "tailgate," which (now I that sound it out in my head) sounds like some kind of scandal involving tails. How torrid!

Personally I am going to wait until 2017-2018 until they get all the valve stem issues worked out. Been burned too many times in the past with cross threading.

I assume you do a lot of off roading where you are airing down and filling up a lot.

Why not get ARB fast inflate/deflate stems? Seems like a smart mod if you are worried about something as small as a valve stem.

For me, the off roading I do has never needed me to reinflate my tires. I think I have put air in my tires once since in 3 years.

So true, so true. Still... until I see the thread design on the new Tacoma valve stems, I will be on the fence. I pray it won't be some proprietary thread design forcing me to the dealer to buy some overpriced Toyota cap. I just want to be able to walk into any auto parts store and know the valves stem cap I buy will fit.

I'll bet anyone $5 that JC Whitney will have chromed upgrades available by September.

Great news about the light but I am not buying a limited so maybe it will be an option on other trims the biggest problem with the Icelandic valve stem caps is the reverse threads and only coming in 3 packs if you can find them in the store.
