    There's nothing wrong with the cummins motor. The only issues I have ever came across is from the emissions equipment causing recirc issues due to like you said extended idling which would not have been a problem if people read the manual. And the other is blown head gaskets due to people throwing on tuners and cranking it to 11 and expecting stock rated studs to hold it. The head gasket is mostly a 2012-2015 issue not so much the early 6.7's.
