Rust is a big concern where I am. Also I believe they say do 2" welds a little at a time to make sure the axle housing doesn't warp.

 

Filling with the TG diff armor sucks ass. They make pumps that screw on the bottle and has a tube that it fills through. Like $10 from your local auto parts and it make life much easier.

 

I bought one of those POS pumps and it exploded after two or three pumps (no innuendoes this time).

Ended up having to fill the tranny from inside the cab.

I don't bash my truck hard when off roading but I've always been concerned with the back of the rear diff...

 

+1 on the pump for filling anything. Especially the front diff.

 

i have a new squeak/howl if anyone knows a good starting place to try and track it down, its in the rear, its only in really low rpms and i barely push the throttle and let off it makes a noise, so id assume drive shaft. it dosnt do it at all when the clutch is in. would the be as simple as just greasing u joints?

 

Start by greasing u joints for sure!

 

I have one of those that I use for the last little bit, when bottle gets empty. But initially the kind that is basically just a long tube fills faster.

 

Makes it so much easier

 

if anyone can get me a link on were the zerk joints are on the driveshaft that would be awesome

So I've wired my OTRATTW switch to my ash tray and thenkey ring light, but none of them are turning the bottom light on. Any suggestions? I have the power wire spliced into the green/red wire and the ground into the black/white wire

 

Are you trying to have them dim with the rest of the dash?

 

Nope, my dash won't dim for some reason, the PO might have put LEDs that don't dim, so I just want it to turn in with the dash.

And my ash tray light doesn't work either, bulb might have burnt out or somethin

(Really stupid when it comes to wiring just fyi)

 

If nothing dims then it sounds like your rheostat might be broken but that's another issue of its own.
I would suggest buying a cheep ground tester like this:

That way you can see if there is even any power going to the ash tray and work from there.
