I just got these tires put on and I'm impressed with the ride. I do a lot of highway driving and the ride is super smooth. I hardly go off-road but I took it on a small trail and it rides great as well. I went from 265/75/16 BFG All-Terrain to 265/70/17 BFG Rugged-Terrain and it felt like I would imagine a regear to feel like. It was a lot cheaper too. These tires maintain a semi-aggresive look and rides real nice. No complaints here. Oh yeah, I'm running a 2.5" lift with spidertraxx 1.25" wheel spacers.

You do know that a 265/75/16 is the exact same size as a 265/70/17 right? I don't understand how you are perceiving so much of a gain.

Was there a considerable drop in weight with the wheel and tire change?

There is a pretty significant difference in size and I believe that there is a weight difference but I didn't weigh them.

    I stand corrected.

I don't know how to tell if there is a weight difference. Does anyone know how I can find out?

That's the size I'm considering, but need to find a wheel that's 17x8.5 with a -10 offset, according to all the local tire shop guys. I have a set of 16" TRDs and 18" XD's, and neither are working out perfectly.

i'm sure there is a weight difference. there is also probably a difference in tire stiffness as the BFG all terrains were probably E range, and the new ones are probably either passenger or C range. congrats on the new tire, glad they're more comfy

    ^^ Thanks. I swear I felt a difference and I wasn't expecting to so I don't think it was a placebo effect.

Also, it rained here in Socal yesterday so I decided to go mudding and the wheels are not that great for mud.
