Anyone have any ideas or make any progress on a better solution for our rack and pinions? Like adapting an electric power steering set up, or a Howe rack and pinion?

I'm on #2. Truck still likes to wander at high speed. Going to replace LCA bushings tomorrow.

That's my last step before replacing the rack again. I've replaced inner and outer tie rods, hub/wheel bearing assemblies, intermediate steering shaft, and upper and lower control arm heims all in the last 10,000 miles. It's gotten better - it's fine on city streets - but on the freeway it is still unacceptably sloppy.

Thinking the same, but I really hope the cage isn't done. Missing some tubes on the back wall and a lot of gussets

I'd like to re do the roof bars and add tubes to my cage but I don't want to have to cut a bunch of stuff to drop the cage

Not doing it right the first time always leads to regrets. I've learned this the hard way too many times.

Yeah I got my truck with the cage already in it...everything seems decent but the roof tubes are like 1.25 and there's only two.

    Pretty minimal

Lower cross bar and another x or triangle for the lower portion.

Your 2 diagonal tubes at the rear are essentially dead tubes since they end at the cross tube. The forces applied on them in the event of a rollover will transfer energy into the horizontal bar potentially collapsing Inward. That force needs to be directed back into a triangulated location. Basically you need to continue those diagonal bars through the horizontal bar down to where your cage meets the frame. It's basically just one big triangle

Well working the prim race weekend and probably can't switch shifts. Will definitely make the second race even if it's just driving out early in the AM. Didn't see much info on the MORE site but will keep checking in before the race. See you guys out there!

I see where he is missing tubes behind the rear seat but what needs gussets? Im sure some key areas are needed but just curious where.
    Thanks

Score - absolutely not. Possibly would pass more/snore tech with a few more tubes and gussets. As it sits no.

    ...too much shit to list.
Because of the dead tubes on the back tube. And Gussets are required at all main intersections in case a weld fractures.
    I see zero gussets.

MJP2's score legal cage- 2" .120 wall, gussets at main intersections. Obviously his B pillar is the strongest (which is how it should be IMO). If your C pillar looked like his B pillar it would be good to go. I didn't gusset my cage much, I meant to do it after final fitment and never got to it. 5+ years later... What I'm saying is get it done right while you have it gutted and enjoy your truck for the next decade. If you build to SCORE specs and get it inspected and tagged that is a big selling point too...
