also I was thinking I can gain a few more inches of up travel if I just move my upper links on the axle from right under the pan to just out side of the pan? not sure how this will effect anything though??

I have some 33" TSL's but was thinking of either Irok's or Bighorns when I go bigger.

got some answer's If I triangulate my lower links some more which I need to do anyways ( was just waiting to buy my atlas) it will work fine.

I would go with the Irok's if you can stand how fast they wear out on the road.

Well it's supposed to be a trail rig so it wouldn't matter how they wear. If I go 35's and keep it street legal than I will go with the Bighorns or TrXus. If I go 37's and cage it I will probably go either Iroks or TrXus???

Alright lol this won't be happening until next year, this years goal is to just get the axle under the truck and driving good. Then maybe next year a new dd, 37s and depending on how the truck is used at that time full hydro or assist.

    Ok haha.

I'd go with a TSL SX... I don't trust the Iroks, too many shitty reviews. I'd buy the tsl sx if they made it in a 40, but they don't. Or you can buy my 37" creepy crawlers in 8 months :luvya: they are 95% tread

In other news, I'm at about $5.5k in axle mods and $4k into tires and wheels for my actual "SAS" this time around... Another 9k... blah

Another 9k! that'll put me at basically $35k spent on the truck not including the price of the truck since I bought it

But for real... how long you waiting for to buy tires? I'd probably part with my tires for $900. they are $1550 new. 37x12.5x15. Only one tire has a small sidewall hit. I'll even throw in the beadlocked wheels.

not including buy price of the truck, Feck that's a lot. Are you including tires? I never count tires. Unless I link the rear ill be 32K into mine including buying the truck.

Yeah, tires... that includes all the sets I bought, but I subtract the price of them when I sell for what little you get back. Also, transmission rebuild... basically everything, IFS upgrades... First bumper I had built...etc.

I had about $9k into my first SAC... which included tires and rock sliders and shit. Maybe 8k if you don't count that stuff.

Since then though, I've upgraded...rebuilt....re-sac'd from the shitty job the dude did on my truck, replaced broken parts, all that probably cost me about another $7k.

yes but I bet we have made many more changes to our rigs than you have.
and I am including buy price in my number.

I am including the price of everything ive ever done to the truck minus tires. From day one the by price. Though the number I put out there was including the money im going to be putting into it for the rest of the mods I have planned.

I'm including what I paid for the trucks in those numbers too. I'm more worried about what my number will get up to lol. A lot of yall's money is in the axles and I haven't gone to tons yet so we'll see how much mine grows should I cross that bridge.

It is WAY cheaper to buy a another built truck. When I completed the SAS I am sure the price of my truck didn't do anything but stay the same.... even though I just dumped 9k into it. I also had the transmission rebuilt before the SAS and I had IFS suspension and bull shit, lockers and tires and bumpers probably cost me over $6k. The truck was probably worth about $7k in it's full SAS, maybe $10k to the right person.

This was the first day I brought it home.

    stance_0f48040ef1df654c8b6e276ddcbf965659297a39.jpg

This was 5 weeks after getting it home... The fucker didn't install my u-joints correctly and the caps walked out and busted my shit all up...

That fix cost me well over $1,500. After that I decided to upgrade the diff cover, bob the bed, fix the shit that just broke and I upgraded to chromo shafts since... why not. I also added chevy 63s and new shackle mounts and shock mounts.

    IMAG0558_7f63ff999289b84b93db47b98a71dc5e115da100.jpg

I was probably about $11k into the SAC build by now.

I started wheeling more and fucked my rear driveshaft to hell.... Went through this phase where I wanted boggers because I was convinced I'd be forever wheeling in mud the rest of my life due to the shitty midwest wheeling... so I bought boggers for $1600. Blew out all 4 of my shocks because I didn't have bump stops because I was retarded... oh and I got beadlocks for the tires.

Instead of fixing my shocks I had a wild hare up my stupid ass to build an exo cage because I thought they were cool and everyone had one where I generally wheeled at... So that adventure cost me about $2200... And it wasn't even complete and I honestly didn't even like it, it was FUGLY. I had a design in mind and I guess the guy who was building it didn't see that design and created his own, by the time I was there to help him it was basically too late.

Shortly after I had gotten the cage done I bought full hydro which was about $1700 all said and done. I had to rebuild the front axle since it needed major maintenance... I tried finishing the cage, rebuilt front axle, wheel bearings, seals, axle seals, ball joints, hubs. I did the rear brakes, rear axle shafts were broken, seals and bearings and replaced my broken rear locker, got the shocks repaired, redid the shock hoops on the front and redid the rear shock mounting too. Fixed my front driveshaft and I bought new tires and a spare tire!!

That journey cost about another $6k including tires.

About 1 year after that I decided to cut the cage off since I was really unhappy about it... While I did that I replaced the fenders and then the radiator and some misc shit. About $1k worth.

After that I rebuilt wheel bearings and seals in the front again with the hubs and shortly after I broke my front locker and took out my r&p and the carrier.... I fixed all that and then fixed my rear driveshaft mount after several years of it being fubard, added a new winch since my last one failed... That was about $2k to fix all that mess.

Then I replaced the front leaf springs and redid the spring hanger mounts and axle perches, had my rear driveshaft rebuilt so its straight again... rebuiilt the front axle again basically just recently. New front fenders again and my front driveshaft is getting replaced since I broke it last trip out... another 2k.

So theres basically the story haha. probably missed some random bull shit, but you get the idea.
