    1. 20K is ridiculous IMO

    2. In the ad it says it's 4x4. When you click on the "free history report" it says it's a pre-runner. When you do a VIN check it confirms that it's a pre-runner RWD. Pretty sure it's not actually a 4x4, but someone else can chime in on that

Move on that price is out of the ball park. Unless it comes with 10K cash in the front seat...

I would say the price is definitely on the high side and I'm also wondering if it is 4x4. Hopefully they post some good pics soon. It was last reported at auction so they probably got a smoking deal when they bought it. One thing to consider is CarMax doesn't negotiate price...or so they claim.

While it has low miles, for $20K I would expect a lot more truck if that makes sense.

Since I'm bored laying in bed drinking coffee, I just called them to confirm if it's 4x4 or 2x4.

The guy kept saying, "my notes say it's 4WD/AWD." I told him that doesn't mean much because the VIN look up says it's a prerunner. He was very confused. I asked if the truck is in his lot, he said yes. I asked him to go check on it..

He'll get back to me shortly.

According to the vin it's a prerunner 2WD regardless that's an outrageous price even if it's been sitting in a heated garage for the last 8 years.

It's had 3 different titles issued, too. I'm not sure what that means or what a "duplicate title" even is.

Nice move. Let us know the outcome. It amazes me how clueless sales associates are sometimes in general.

If you are interested, it might be a good idea to ask to speak directly to the sales manager. He is the one who has the ability to discuss pricing without the sales associate (middle man) involved. It might be a simple case of it being priced wrong, or being labeled with another vehicle's price. Heck, it might even just be listed wrong on the website and on the lot has a much lower price. CarMax typically buys for cheap and sells for a decent price because of the "no haggle" policy.

Nice Madjik! I thought about doing the same till I saw you were already on it. Its an insane price, not to mention its not a 4x4. The dealership is looking for a fool who is willing to pay that price, its ridiculous.

I wouldn't jump to this conclusion. Car max prices are normally not to bad. I think this is a mistake. They wouldn't be the number one dealer in america if all they did was screw people over.

He just emailed me and said to contact the Knoxville store because he's located at the Madison store.

Which is weird because when I spoke with him originally he said the truck is on his lot and that he will go out and look at it shortly.

btw - you must have a sexy Shadow Stevens voice if he thought you were me.

No not yet. But if i can get this one for roughly retail id just buy it out right. I love my access cab but the wife in the winter is afraid to drive her lancer when it snows. She likes the 4wd so this would work for her. Her cars about done for and only has 100k on it. Biggest piece of junk I've ever seen haha. Hers wouldn't even be worth trading in its an 06 and worth 2700.
