Hey all! My name is Johnathan and I sold my WRX in December to pick up a 2012 Taco. After starting full time school again, I quickly found out that the WRX was more of a "done with school, working full time car." My girlfriend picked up a Scion xB and while there I found out the Taco's were pretty awesome. I got my Harley Night Rod Special and the WRX traded in for it and I'm taking all the dirt roads I can. There's lots of stuff I want to do (Lighting in the bed for one...) and I'm hoping to learn about owning an NA engine again! But I know there is a supercharger I can shove on...

No pictures yet. They will come.

    Thank you!

Just thought of a question. What is the difference between the base, PreRunner, and TRD? Suspension is what I'm looking into mostly, but other differences are nice to know. Also, hood swaps. I'd like a hood with a scoop on it. Anyone know where I can pick one of those things up? (I know, I know, search search) :)

The base won't have any suspension upgrade and have all the standard doohickeys. Prerunner has the same suspension components as the 4x4s just they're only reserved for 2wd, they'll have more to offer in that package and the TRD off road will have the rear elocker and other off road electronic assist capabilities like atrac, hill assist and whatnot.
The trd sport has color match grille, bumper, mirrors, hood scoop and some other electronic assist modes too.

Ok, so if the truck has hill assist and ATRAC, it's a TRD? My truck has both but it has no labels outside of the V6 anywhere on it.

I don't, however, have the red rocker locker switch. I'm assuming that's the elocker. Unless it's something else. I need to figure out what all these switches do. AWD was so much easier than 4x4 but not as fun off road. More like, destroyed oil pans and no ground clearance.

Not necessarily. Disregard that I have an older tacoma so not too familiar with what's offered, but the TRDs have more electronic assist modes as I recall.
    Maybe SR5?

We aren't talking about the rear locking diff, right? The front one is the elocker?

No I meant the atrac and hill assist.
There's no front locker offered in any tacomas. And the rear elocker is offered in only the TRD off road.
