My dads truck cracked his head so he needs another truck to drive asap so im just going with a low miles 3.4

On the bright side im going to be able to part the suburban out for more than i actually paid for it

It was only like 10 bucks when it was all said and done so not too bad

 

Just ordered some cvj axles. Now to find hub parts.....

 

Going to visit the junkyard tomorrow. $75 for a new hub. Seems cheaper than buying the cover, and the inner part that is busted. I might need some other stuff too. It looks like the inside of the bearing area is scored.

 

Completed my 4runners suspension buy with icon rear springs. hoping to knock this out once I get back from underway!

 

I saw that one... as well as the $80 ish one I bought. But since the $45 unit has mini usb, micro usb, as well as iPhone 4 - 6, and jumps my truck from totally dead, I can't see keeping the $85 or more. If the truck is running, I've got the in cab and bed inverters and plenty of usb ports. More money for more stuff!

 

These babies are awesome! My only concern is how long they'll last in the range of temps in a vehicle.

Anyone know how to get a list of the local junkyards? The one I went to in Suffolk today screwed me. They said they had the part, but didn't. I have lived here a long time, but without an actual phone book I don't know how to find most of these places. And no, google doesn't work.....

agh it's alright! not a problem. hopefully one of these other pros will chime in . I wish I had the space/tools here at my townhouse or I would try to knock it out myself. I'd feel more comfortable with someone that knows what they're doing to back me up.

 

So while changing the oil on my wife's T4R I noticed the dreaded milky white substance (no I didn't stick my male parts in there I'm to Large for that haha just figured I'd say the punt before you guys) There wasn't any in the oil when I drained it that I could see and none on 5th dip stick. Weather changes?? From California to Virginia? My guess. Don't think it's a blown head gasket no other symptoms to indicate that. Any other checks you guys recommend? Or suppose it's due to climate change?
