Looks kinda green still...and like ya might wanna break out the ol' chain saw and cut some o them in half.

 

I'm going to bring a chainsaw there was plenty of downed dry wood last time I was there.

 

Well...there was plenty of downed dry pine...hardwood is a little harder to come by in a pine forest.

 

I've still got all the stuff I got for the December trip that we never bothered to unload. It's all still stacked under my toolbox. I hope I get a chance to use it this time.

If I'm not mistaken, aren't you supposed to leave the downed wood alone? You are supposed to bring you fire wood with you? I remember Jim posting a link telling the laws about this kind of thing. Though I personally have used downed wood in the past, just thinking about it.

 

I'm not 100% on it, but I remember something along those lines. Like i said, I have collected while out there. Especially last year when it was freezing and we went through more than expected.

 

Make it a super big fire, we'll be a couple slots over -

Man, you should have came down and got some from me. I left half the oak I brought sitting on the ground cuz I didn't feel like loading it back up (and that was with me supplying a good bit to Greg). I know Colson had a crap ton as well.

 

Haha, well, if we're camping, we'll probably be at Holder Mine, unless there's a slot open when the time comes. (But don't go moving me into an open slot because I don't know yet if I'm camping or not. )

 

Needs to season for about a year before it makes good firewood. Otherwise it won't burn very good.

 

And might explode from the steam pressure.

 

This is all that the Citrus WMA regulations brochure says about it,

"Firewood may only be gathered to be burned in a designated area in a
Florida Forest Service campground with a valid camping permit."

Guys I was there this weekend and it was 34*F at night.

If it's that cold during the ride I am gonna skip it, I live in Miami for a reason!

 

It's extremely doubtful that it will be even below 60* at night during the meet. Why? Because I'd be thrilled if it was 34*. Perfect camping weather. Unfortunately, things just haven't been working out for me like that recently, so I don't think you have a thing to worry about.

 

Don't jinx us. It was in the 20s a few years back, bring on the cold!

 

So since im not on the list to camp, (just going saturday) do i just pay the entrance fee? Or pay the guy who already put money down?
