I'd say it's pretty darn well made. Did you have to explain to anybody who you were?

Hard for anyone currently watching them to be surprised because it's such a well known plot twist. I would say it is very close if not the biggest and that's just because I don't have anything to choose from. I hear even sneak peak images/comics showed that scene, but not revealing that he is Luke's father.

The only other twist I can think of is when you discover Snape was protecting Harry all along and that he loved Lily Potter. Not comparing Harry Potter to Star Wars, but that was a big reveal.

Luke went on to become one of the most, if not the most powerful Jedi in the universe, so you could say he had a knack for it. However he was unprepared to fight Vader but the fact is, he simply had to be, so he went in and did his best. Toe to toe, Vader could have beat him with ease, but I think Vader wanted him to win.

As for Luke and Vader in the swamp, I see Star Wars in a way that I don't think the majority of fans even consider, but when looking into it so much I can't help but feel it was really written this way, and that scene had a lot to do with the symbols and messages I get from Star Wars.

As for the saber battles in the prequels, yes they were much better and that's probably their strongest point. I remember thinking, "How lame was that fight when Vader killed Obi-Wan?" and that it could have been better. But an interesting thought is this: Jedi fight by seeing a split second into the future, which makes sense when considering Jedi are often evenly matched but any Jedi would destroy a simple swordsman or can easily deflect blasters. So, seeing a split second into the future can be applied to these fast paced and aggressive saber battles, and it can also be applied to the final fight between Obi-Wan and Vader. It looked more or less like a stalemate, like each one was waiting for the other to make a move. It was a mental battle. I do not think they would leave that battle the same if it was remade, but because of how the Force works, the battle can be justified.

Just saw this, can't believe I missed it. Those are awesome! Have you heard of UltraSabers? http://www.ultrasabers.com/

My closest friend who recently introduced me to Star Wars bought me this beauty for Christmas - I was ecstatic.

I should have taken a better picture of just the saber, but the quality is top notch. It's a nickel hilt, has some weight to it, and as a matter of fact I'm just going to get a picture of the thing next week for you guys. Too beautiful for words.

As for costumes... That there is just a Jedi bathrobe my girlfriend got me for Christmas, but I plan to show up to VII fully clad.

...And thus concludes my triple post. :anonymous:

    Didn't know about that.
Honestly I wasn't shown star wars until august of this year. So I am a new fan, but I jumped right in. I did a lot of heavy analysis into the themes and played some of the games but have not yet read the books. To me, the EU will always be canonical though.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
mark hamill was cocknocker...point is invalid...lol

the 501st were at a local hockey game yesterday. 6-8 guys in uniform, R/C life-sized R2D2 running around...was pretty cool.

saw the star wars stuff when i was at disney back in november. my 8 y/o son is interested in it, so we'll have to sit down and watch all 6 at some point.

    then becomes the conundrum...1-6 or 4-6, 1-3?

I'm sorry, did someone say "Star Wars"?

I have the single Maul and single Vader saber..paid $80 and $50, I want another Maul for the double saber.

Still have all my toys except my TIE fighter which broke..and a shitload of figures. I have the Death Star and Dagobah with original boxes.

Saw Ep IV in the theater when I was 3.5 years old, still remember it to this day.

Oh yeah I got this too

I have the Sith order Vault Edition..have to get the Jedi Order since Santa didn't bring.

Bought it here, but I'm told it can be done fairly simple with any bobblehead

Thank you. I think Im going to go ahead and read the rest of the thread to get up to speed on whats going on here so far.

BUT also despite fears of what episode VII will bring, did anyone else get a nerd boner in the new trailers scene with the X-Wings coming in low over the water?... or was that just me?
