Just thought I would share, since a lot of people seem to be concerned with how expensive a mid size truck is. I was at an outdoor fish&feather show this weekend. They had a 2015 F150 w the FX4 package, crew cab, 4x4, eccoboost v6, & ton of options. The special show price was $57,400.00!! And it didn't have like any special features put on for the show like after market stuff, it was just a factory everyday looking truck. Just crazy IMHO....

    P.S. maybe a 2016 Taco Limited for mid $30's isn't so bad ? Lol....

    My F150 sticker was $53k, I paid $38k OTD.

Also I don't think you will find a limited taco in the mid 30s, it will be high 30s.

2015 on the lot today is MSRP $35K+, out the door after incentives and USAA pricing around $32K. It's a 4x2, not 4x4. I've been told to expect the same on the 2016s, but that could also be dealer-speak.

Dunno your tax rate in NC but that would be 37.5 OTD

We have a funky 3% highway use tax in lieu of sales tax on vehicles.

Your kidding yourself if you think the limited we saw will be mid 30's I'd expect 38k (limiteds now are 36k) similar to the GM twins loaded up at 40k.

Never heard of anything like that you getting at least 17k off the sticker, with taxes and everything...dont believe it unless you owned the joint. It was basically given to you. Dodge maybe, Ford NO

FS Chevy and Ford 2014s are selling for a shade over $10K off here in Texas. There are too many on the lots, and the dealerships don't want to pay taxes on them.

Same here in Michigan. NO ONE in my area pays anywhere near MSRP for a domestic FS truck, which one of many reasons why I never see any tundras or tacoma's on the road of metro Detroit. It's hard to sell a Toyota in my area when a Big 3 can be purchased for way less.

Come to Houston, there is close to 20 dealers.. some of which have over 1k F150s on their lots.. and you can practically name your own price. You don't have to make a special trip though, just keep getting ripped off by your local dealer.

Two friends just got new F150's and one was almost 12k off sticker abd the other was 15k of sticker
same thing for the Chevy around the area anything from 8 to 12k off at most dealers.
Even the new loaded Colorado was about 4k off sticker over the weekend.

When I was looking for a 13'; I could have gotten 10 - 12k off of a F-150, but only if I bought the exact model with the exact options that Ford wanted me to buy, and also financed it through Ford at an astronomically high interest rate and made 3 payments minimum.

To get the exact truck I wanted with the options I wanted, Ford would only give me like 5 - 6k off at more than one dealership. I didn't like being strong armed into buying what Ford wanted me to buy for a big discount, so crossed them off my list since it really wasn't the same price as a mid-size Tacoma.

It may differ from area to area but I have always had a written deal in hand with all offers before I ever talked about how I was going to pay....
and the only time I got flack was when I handed them my CC to pay for one.

Negotiate the price down to finance and then pay cash once...they will never forget that shit. Felt all proud of myself when I did it for my wife's 2007 Prius, and tried it again at another dealer in 2013. Denied! They knew all about us.

    Stupid databases...

My brother walked in to a dodge dealer a few years back; with very little negotiation they offered him a truck that has a sticker of mid 30s for low 20s.

It's part of the reason our resale is so high, IMO. Lots of FS trucks go for 10k+ under book and it's pretty well understood everywhere I have lived. The same can not be said for Tacoma or Tundra... Not even a similar percentage off. Ever heard of a 38k Limited selling for 28k ? I guess I haven't.

Can you imagine being the guy who pays 47k for that truck only to find out he could have had it new for 34k ? Imagine that hit in resale !

Exactly which makes comparing it to the discounts of the domestic FS trucks not even relevant. More tech, new body style, there was about a 2k price jump from 1st to 2nd gen, I would expect at least the same for the 3rd gen. Supply, demand and current profit margins, simple business math, anyone who thinks they will be paying the same for a new 3rd gen as the 2nd gen is kidding themselves, then again you will be getting more options, etc.
