I think so, but that was nearly 2 years ago and I've since traded in the truck. I used the smaller sized zip ties and I could barely squeeze 3 of them in there, so it was tight. The loose feeling went away after this fix, so if you can squeeze some into the joint, I'd just do it.. It can't harm anything anyway!

    Good luck.

Now that they know it is 'tolerances' and angles, it would seem prudent to make the solution available all the way down to first gens......with all the time and money I spent chasing driveline vibes, if a $600 solution was available that really fixed the problem, how many do you think would have thrown down on the solution....heck, they could sell it for less, make a whole lot of people happy...but they ain't gonna do it...why? It would dip heavily into new truck sales for a couple of years. There would be a whole lot of tradeins for the 2016 if it is really true it is fixed, previous years are gonna take a back sit..they want sales, not trucks that will stay with one owner for an addition 5 or 10 years...course, then there is the rust if you live in a salt belt....I give up...:deadhorse:

Mine kind of sounds like that but my fuel door moves around a little bit and that's what causes it. Also makes that sound when I close a door on the driver side.

Wow they apparently fixed the issue and most of you guys are still bitching about it...Ive had 3 Tacomas and none had vibrations except when I had OME lift with rear Dakars on my 2013.

Man where is the love for toyota.

I have not had the problem and as stated it is all a part of owning a truck.
They will never drive like a car.

He doesn't believe the issue exists, or he has it and thinks that's how all trucks ride?

How can one not have an issue and then state that the issue is part of having a truck if the issue doesn't exist ?

Personally as a 4x4 lifted, I have never experienced any vibrations whatsoever. The same applies as to when I was non lifted as well. If I remember correctly I believe someone has stated or it has been stated by multiple people on here that 4x4 models typically don't get much vibration induced into them other then the usual brakes after a while at braking because of the transfer case?

True. Toyota has a TSB against the so-called "issue".. and the TSB involves 3 phases of intervention to (hopefully) get to a solution. For many, that solution was never met.

Some people might be cool dropping $30k for a vibrating truck and waving it off like it's no biggie, but me? Not so much..

It sure is a good thing there are so many other brands to pick from.

it is not like this has not been talked about for years...
you must have known about it when you got the truck.

Wow dude - you're making a lot of excuses to trivialize a problem that a many owners have struggled with and that Toyota itself admits needs attention.. Not sure why, but perhaps Toyota should award you with some pom-poms for your steadfast loyalty.

and no... When I bought my 2013, I had no idea that Toyota suspension engineers shot from the hip. Now I do.
