That, and no permanent injury. No cash settlement can truly compensate for chronic pain from whiplash, or worse.

Still, I'd be pissed if someone wrecked my '06 though their negligence, I've spent a lot of my precious spare time and $$ making it how I want it. Things that insurance settlements don't pay for.

I agree 100%. I've spent sooo many hours tinkering on it and making it my own... and you're right, that can't be replaced or even compensated for. Things to keep in mind for my next one.

Dangit, was going to see if you could grab the bed cleats off before they took her away.

    Glad everything worked out.

I know i am looking at the mods you did. You did some very time consuming mods. The back up camera and the fog light anytime mods it really sucks that it happened.

Yep, and not a single factory wire was cut. I did pin reroutes on everything (remove pin from connector and plug it into an oem pigtail to my switches etc.)

sorry to hear that . Thanks for posting. Good reminder for all of us. I just went out and slid the hitch with ball into my reciever to let the idiots who dont pay attention while texting feel that first.

You pic shows the bed pushed into the cab causing some cab damage so make sure they take care of that too. Could have been much worse, glad you're ok

Glad the INS co totaled it. I wouldn't drive with a bent frame like that.

You might want to rethink that. You are more likely to get a bent frame when you have the ball in your receiver hitch.

I got rear ended fairly the same way, I was at a dead stop and he hit his brakes in enough time to not hit every thing but my tow hitch took a lot of the impact. He's totaled, not sure what my trucks gonna look like

Yeah its pretty crazy. the ins appraiser helped me get to totaling mark. the biggest factor that helped was the salvage value of my truck.

Sorry to hear it was totaled! I wondered if it would be because of the frame and how it looked like it shoved the bed into the cab on that side. Sorry bro. Glad you and your gf were ok!!

    Initial estimate:

    Frame:
    frame trailer hitch(remove/replace)
    L Frame Reinforcement(remove/replace)

    Rear Bumper Assembly:
    Rear bumper step pad (remove/replace)
    rear bumper face bar(remove/replace-remanufactured)
Right/Left inr bumper mounting arm (remove/replace)

Could that be the only damage being hit at about 30-45mph and me being at dead stop?

I'm trying to get a new bumper, at the cost that they're charging for a repair of it they might as well buy new(406.00).

Just happened to me on a brand new Prerunner coming home from the dealer. So tell me what they said about the frame damage in your last pic. Your frame buckled right behind the spare as did mine...... Total due to frame damage or repairable?

After I read through everything in your post I see that it was totaled. I'm waiting now for hopefully the same answer. I only had the truck for about 2 minutes before the idiot hit me.
All I want out of this is just to get the truck that I bought again and this time maybe I'll have the dealer deliver it to my house so I don't have to worry about some idiot texting behind me!!
    Thanks, KJW

Another comment as I review your pictures...Did you learn if Toyota will let anybody use heat on these frames and straighten them up? It seems that once these frames twist like yours did (and mine did) the vehicle is a questionable repair and also questionable for future towing ability.
