What hit the center of the piston? The spark plug or that chunk of piston? How does the cylinder head look? and

it must have been part of the piston.. the spark plug still looks untouched just a little black. Cylinder had some scoring on the exhaust port but thats really it.. Already got the cylinder cleaned up and a new top end in :D im done with wisco pistons. trying out the pro-x this time. im jsut waiting on a new radiator hose since it got ripped on the way back home :(

I was coming back form the back of gecko road back to the washes and i was trying to keep up with trucks and a RZR and then kaboom. i knew instantly it was fuuuuuuggged. Thankfully it broke on sand highway so recovery was easy

Nothing like a big bore 2 stroke! I have a 01 cr500 sitting in the back of my garage. Haven't ridden it in 3 years. At one time i had 3, 2 1994's and the 01. I regret selling my 2 94's.

Is it just me or are the rads on those CR500s huge?

By today's standards perhaps they are. Fwiw, I have ridden mine with zero water in it for considerably further than is prudent, so maybe they are a tad over engineered. Then again, at slow speed on the trail it is normal for them to puke coolant.

Not really my KX450f has larger ones...but not by much.
Anyway. Here is a pic of the race from Sunday when it was pouring rain notice no goggles and my arrowhead water bottle visor extender!! Haha!

its cause i bought it :D

its a 98 cr250 frame powder coated black with a 92 500 motor in it. Its got flex bars, asv levers, trimmed seat (also non trimmed), and just some random other stuff. needless to say, im more than ecstatic about it and i can finally put the 125 to rest.

noooooooo worries man!! i rode the piss out of my 125, that bike is awesome to ride really.. the fact is so nimble and how you can pretty much ride it wide open is awesome! im 170 on a 125 and it still scooted pretty good and can hold its own ground. this is just a little video of joel (jjhitchen) and another friend cole on our bikes at ballinger.
