Does anyone have any opinions on air shocks?

Nice man, disc brakes and even shaved.

Yea they are good. Regular air shocks are good, but you still need to limit them and bump them. Although if you're thinking ORIs I've heard good things about them.

ORI's have internals bumps for both stuff and droop so you don't need bumps or limit straps if you can get the shock travel to line up just right. They flex better than C/O's for sure. I like how well mine flex on my IFS.

built this last night. I was just going to buy one but I had a bunch op 3/8's plate lying around and this atlas dream before moab is going to be expensive so I need to cut corners in the mean time. also welded up my spare carrier so I can have a poor man locker for moab

I guess I should of explained better. I was trying to get at the ORIs are superior to air shocks! But yes, you are right about them having internal bumps and limiters. how can you say they flex better than a C/O? I'd like to see the science behind this

Nice, pretty sure I am welding my rear... I am poor haha

I looked at ori but was more of thinking king or fox, don't mind doing bumps and straps. But was wondering how they run on the street?

Supra TT did you run the 36.5 spring perch width the first time round? I remember a while back you had redone your front hanger and couldn't remember. Didn't know if the wider perch width would induce a tire on the spring.

Yeah I had the 36.5" out a pure random dumbness. The guy at the shop set it up that way even though I told them 31.5"

I opted to switch it because nothing was straight, flex was slightly worse, and turning radius was HORRIBLE. Tires were into the springs, I'm basically running stock turning radius from 1976... hah. Still am actually, but that'll soon change once I cut down my ram stops.

Ok, figured the tires and spring would try and occupy the same space. All the later model Ford Dana 60s have the wider perch width that I'd use on mine. Not sure if links will be easier vs. Cutting the long side tube down 5 inches and running leafs with the 31.5 spring perch.

Sorry for the slow responce I haven't been on here for the last few days. Thats a really good deal. I have a few things to deal with 1st and then test it out. If every thing goes to plan that timeline might work out for both of us

the 14 bolt is supper easy to do and because it's a 2 piece carrier you can weld the 8 small holes up and if anything goes it's contained.

I've done both and LINKS FTW!!
