Needs a going over and to replace the conveyor motor. (Another 200) and fresh paper its good to go.

My only reservation is I don't stick to interior work only

 

I have a 1.5 hp twin tank Emglo compressor, framed my house in '96 with it and it still works well.

 

Small compressors generally do fine with framing guns , where they struggle is with multiple guns or sheathing nailing because of it's rapid fire nature

 

And its 1600 for just the saw. 2500 if you get the DC and you still don't have a stand for the saw at that price. I've only met one pro that uses festool, he's German and does high end interior stuff. I have zero problem dropping money for tools that are faster and better, but for that price I could set up two great sliders easily. So the return on that's just not there for me.

 

Yeah , I hear it . I'm still happy with my 2 Makita LS1013's

I'll probably end up with a Festool dust vacuum and sander set up though

 

That and maybe the domino are the only things they have that I think justify the price because they are that much better then everyone else.
The Bosch mitersaw I linked earlier will probably be my next shop miter saw because the space saved is worth the money.

 

I like the Festool plunge circular saw and track too

 

From talking to people who use them a lot dewalts set up cuts just as well and is more liked.

I should say I like the concept rather than a particular model of it

 

The good. Tosses fresh paper on it and it cuts nicely and needed only minor adjustment.
The bad.
Motor cover is dented and broke most of the fins of the fan. Morons. Hammerd out the dent will replace fan.
Convey motor is busted and the shaft it couples to is bent. Conveyor is a bit rougher then I thought I'll replace when it goes. Stand is bent going to build a station around it anyway no loss.
Overall paid 240 should have tried 200. But I'm happy.

 

If I remember correctly festool and dewalt can both use the others tracks as well.
